The use of the Chromebooks would benefit my students for incentives, extra practice time and skill building. Our school does not have a lot of technology for each student to use per classroom. We have in classroom computers but not enough for all students to use. Chromebooks with headphones would really help especially during my small group time. Typically when students are in small groups (centers) the technology center is where we fall short. Only 3 students can use the available computers. It saddens the students and me because it turns into a marathon on who is going to get to the computer first. And if you're the student who doesn't get to one fast enough tends to disrupt the remainder of their day. It creates other social-emotional issues among-st others. I specifically remember a student who was so eager to boost his score from the previous week on this learning game, but he couldn't make it to the computer fast enough. His day was torn just from this moment. Since technology is quickly taking over, students are more engaged in the clicking, dragging, creating, and developing that technology has to offer. My students would love to have more technology in the classroom. A classroom library would benefit my classroom because my students love reading. Especially the cool characters they can relate to. I am in a low-income school which does not provide all the resources students need. Most students can not make it to the local library or purchase books. Therefore, I want to provide access for students to be able to select books for their enjoyment and engagement in learning. I have students reading at all levels and a library that includes different levels would be really awesome.
