  • Let's Create a Little Magic at Home!

    Funded Jan 14, 2021

I want to thank you so very much for your kindness and generosity. It has been incredibly helpful for my students to have a tote bag and pencil case to keep their materials organized. Every morning, I watch as my students get ready for class and take out their materials from their tote bags - it really has helped them become responsible for their belongings. The students also love using their sketch pads and colored pencils to do projects in class!

It was rewarding to see how excited the students were when they received their tote bags and pencil cases. To make things fun, I personalized the tote bags with each students name and their favorite animal. I then designed the pencil cases with initials and shapes!

Best of all, we will continue to use these materials for the rest of the year, and students can even use them next year in 3rd grade! Thank you so much again for making this project come to life!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Wilson

  • Spread Holiday Cheer!

    Funded Dec 5, 2019

I want to take a moment to thank you for your generosity. This was the second year I have requested items to give to my students for winter break, and it was quite a success!

My students love to read and play, having the opportunity to provide them with some of the things they love was memorable. As the students opened their gifts, their faces were filled with excitement and joy, an experience I wish you could partake in seeing for yourself.

I greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness and help in making this project come to life!”

  • Bright and New, Help Welcome the 2020 Crew!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

I wanted to start off by first thanking you for your generosity. The donations you have given are greatly appreciated and everything has been put to great use!

Beginning with the light filters - they are incredible! Having florescent lights makes our classroom very bright, and the filters create the perfect light. The students love that we can "dim" our lights now!

The cubicles have also come in very handy and this year every student was able to have their own personal mailbox! We even had a few empty cubes to store supplies!

In terms of organization, the magnets have been useful for holding up student work and anchor charts, and the bulletin board storage bag has kept the anchor charts in a safe place for reuse! Thank you again for helping fulfill this project!”

  • "Alice in Wonderland," Second Grade Remix!

    Funded Mar 13, 2019

Thank you so much for supporting our project! After two months of hard work, my students finally got to put on their Reader's Theater presentation of "Alice in Wonderland" this week! The students did an amazing job and absolutely loved all of the props and materials they were able to use to make the play come to life!

It was so awesome to see all of the students working together and getting involved in designing the playhouse, and choosing how to use the castle and rose wall in the play. The students were also so excited to wear their costumes too! All of the materials brought so much joy to the students and their parents were so impressed when they came to watch.

Thank you again for your generosity, it is greatly appreciated!”

  • Hands-on Experiences Are the Building Blocks of Learning!

    Funded Mar 5, 2019

Thank you so much for your kindness and your donations! My students love to play with the new toys they have for recess. It is a joy to watch them be able to express their creativity through play. The students enjoy using the dress-up jewelry to play "Kings and Queens," and building race tracks to race the cars. Seeing the ideas they are able to come up with is truly inspiring and has really brought them together to work as a class.

Thank you again so much for your donations, they are truly a blessing!”

  • Spread Holiday Cheer With a Good Book!

    Funded Oct 13, 2018

Thank you so much for your donations to this project!

It was the most amazing feeling to be able to wrap up books for my students. This afternoon, when my students opened the gifts, they were beyond excited! They were so happy to read their books to one another and even more excited when they found out that they actually got to keep the book! Seeing the smiles on their faces was truly a memorable moment.

My students also participated in crazy hat day this week and were thrilled to have their own Santa hat to wear and keep. Your generosity has truly gone a long way. You have helped create giant smiles that I will never forget. Thank you so much again for being so thoughtful.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Wilson

  • Hands-on at Recess!

    Funded Oct 2, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donations! My students absolutely love playing the board games during recess and free time! They also love the playing cards. The students have been using the cards to create math games, as well as practice addition and subtraction. It's so fun to watch them play together and learn at the same time!

The Puzzle Mat is amazing and the students were so excited when we assembled it! They love having a comfortable place to sit and take very good care of the mat.

The flashcards are also an excellent resource and are very helpful. The students are eager to read and are always requesting new flashcards to take home so they can become better readers!

Your donations have made a positive impact on my students and I am so thankful for your generosity. For my current project, titled, "Hands-on Experiences Are the Building Blocks of Learning," I hope to continue the momentum of creating hands-on experiences by providing engaging activities for my students. Thank you so much!!!”

  • Hola, Ayudame a Aprender Español Por Favor

    Funded Jul 14, 2018

Thank you so much for not only taking a moment to read about, but to also donate to my project. My school is comprised of many wonderful children and families, and Rosetta Stone has helped me improve my Spanish skills. Rosetta Stone has begun to allow me to bridge the communication gap between myself, students and parents. I enjoy learning the language and gaining the confidence to speak and write to parents.

Thank you so much again for your generosity. The opportunities Rosetta Stone will provide are invaluable!”

  • iPads Guiding Instruction

    Funded Apr 20, 2018

Let me begin by thanking you again for your very generous donation. I, along with my students appreciate your kindness in helping fund our project. Having an iPad has been a great asset and resource.

One way I have used the iPad this year is for a major class project. At the end of year, my second graders put on a class performance of "Alice in Wonderland." First, the students read the story, learning how to take notes and analyze the text and then put on a huge show for their peers and parents. As we rehearsed, I was able to use the iPad to show the students clips from the real movie so they could learn how to move and speak like the real characters! I was also able to record their final performance so they could watch and see all of their hard work put into action! In addition, I shared the final recording with parents who were not able to attend the presentation which was much appreciated!

Another way I have used the iPad is to begin learning Spanish. Since most of my students are bilingual and primarily speak Spanish at home, having an iPad has enabled me to improve my communication skills. In order to get my students involved, DuoLingo is a program I frequently use in class. The program has different learning objectives and games that help me learn and get the students involved in speaking Spanish too! This summer, I plan to further extend my learning by using Rosetta Stone!

Having an iPad in class has been a tremendous resource that has given me and my students many wonderful opportunities. I am so grateful to have been given a chance to improve my own learning, and help my students along the way! Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Wilson

  • Writing the Words for the Future!

    Funded Feb 17, 2017

First and foremost, let me begin by saying THANK YOU, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! At the beginning of the year, I had explained to my students that I had created a project with the hopes that we would get some new supplies, but months passed and the project seemed to have slipped their minds. WELL...let me tell you, when I reminded them of the project they definitely remembered! As soon as I told them our project had been funded they were shouting with excitement. They couldn't wait to get markers and new notebooks!

The day our supplies came in and I passed them out was so exciting! They couldn't wait to begin using their new notebooks in their own private little offices (I think they felt so grown up!). The road-lines on the paper really helped them organize their thoughts and write neatly, and they enjoyed drawing pictures in the picture boxes about their stories.

The students used their notebooks to share stories with parents during Author's Chair and their parents were so impressed! They also used the markers during Dr. Seuss week to create some awesome posters about following the golden rule.

Thank you again SO much! Your donations have truly made a huge difference not only for me, but for all of my students as well. I appreciate all of your generosity and support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Wilson

It is imperative for my students to continue developing a passion for learning! This year, my students will have the opportunity to learn about many new topics and I want them to be exposed to different forms of technology. Cromebooks and iPads will enable my students to have access to different learning resources that will positively impact their learning. I want my students to feel empowered to learn using technology and continue to showcase their knowledge using such powerful tools.
