My scholars are winners. Although they live in extreme poverty, where drug problems and violence is the backdrop of their lives, they press forward. From birth, the odds are stacked against my scholars. They are determined to rise above their circumstances, despite the severe shortage of materials and educational resources. My scholars refuse to let their present living conditions define their future!
They attend an Investment School in Cleveland, Ohio. Investment schools are the lowest 10-15 percent of schools in the district. This network of Investment Schools represents not only our clearest need, but also our greatest opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our future leaders. The majority of the entire school is performing at least 1-2 grade levels below grade level. Despite this, they work diligently and inspire me daily. These scholars step up to the challenge of striving to be successful!
