My students need 24 dry erase markers, six copies of Hoot, and an electric pencil sharpener to help them succeed in everyday learning. Every day our class uses some of the same things. Some of the most basic things end up impacting our lesson. Whether it be that they need a new dry erase marker because the one they are using dried up, or their pencil broke, it needs to be addressed. Having those materials at hand will help to keep students focused and engaged in their learning. Reading also plays a big role in their everyday learning. Students are required to independently read as well as come to a teacher table during guided reading. Having enough copies of the same book for each member of the group is important so they do not have to share the same book.
