The Dismal Science Comes Alive

Of my three years of teaching AP Macroeconomics, this year has been by far the most successful. Each year, I try to find a meaningful activity to engage students and prepare them for college in the month between the Advanced Placement Exam and the end of the school year. Thanks to your generosity, the students this year had the opportunity to participate in a fun, meaningful, and college-preparatory book club project.

Your donation provided a wide range of reading materials to expose students to the vast array of perspectives on economics. After a semester engrossed in data, graphs, formulas, and theories founded in mathematical relationships, it was great to see the students engage in lively debate about the real-world applications of the theory.

As a teacher of twelfth grade, I agonize over ensuring that students graduate from high school fully-prepared for college. Through your donation and this enrichment project, I am very confident that my students have the motivation, confidence, curiosity, and skills to succeed. Thank you!”
