  • Books Alive!

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Words cannot express how truly grateful I am for your generosity. As each of the new items arrived, I allowed different classes from the school to help me unbox the items! The oohs and ahhs were amazing! The next week I took some of the materials and placed them out on our library tables along with books from our collection that I knew the students would love! When each class came to the library they were so excited it was difficult to contain their library manners ; ). Students had 10 minutes to spend at different tables exploring the new items, the topics, and the books! Wow did circulation in the library jump!

When we return in January I am so excited that we have enough new materials to engage in another new round of library station explorations! It is encouraging to see our youngest learners so pumped to try , and make, and do while also connecting their interests to the books and reading and taking home more and more books on things that interest them!

Thank you so much for making a difference in our sweet students life! Who knows what this amazing opportunity could inspire in some of our little learners!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

  • Ancient, Old, Expired; Creating A Reference Section That is Up-To-Date

    Funded Jun 16, 2020

Thank you all so very much! We have been fully virtual this entire last school year which has been a huge challenge...however we are so excited to be headed back to the classroom this fall and will be able to use all our new resources you provided us! To say thank you, would be an understatement. We feel beyond grateful and blessed! The students are able to use these materials to research, locate, and evaluate evidence and information as they learn all about the research process. This will no doubt help the students to improve their skills as they progress through school and on i to higher education and the world at large. Your impact has truly made a difference. Thank you!”

  • Camp Out in the Library!

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Words cannot express how grateful I am for your donations to my library project. With your help I have been able to transform this wonderful library into a stunning, comfy, and fun learning environment for all my studentss. They have come into the library and said "wow, it's like we are actually camping", "this is amazing", and "I love the way the library looks". Additionally, the new comfy seat cushions have allowed all my students to enjoy and have a comfy and cozy spot to sit during story time! I plan to continue adding additional resources to this library to grow the students' inqisitive nature by combing play, exploration, and reading! Thank you for taking part in our learning adventure this school year. We look forward to the best year yet!”

  • 21st Century Collaboration Skills

    Funded Oct 3, 2017

Your generous donations have made such a difference at our school. The over 900 students who utilize the Library/Media Center each week have been enjoying collaborative projects, working together to create imaginative and exciting images and displays and linking them to many of the wonderful stories and books we have been reading!

The day that we were able to put up our amazing Lego wall, all the students came into the Media center so excited! Every grade level was chattering and buzzing with excitement and couldn't wait to get their hands on the Legos and start creating.

This amazing new Lego wall has helped our students work together and truly learn to develop those collaborative skills. Helping each other out when one is stuck, creating and designing an idea and transforming it from paper to the wall. Next, we will be taking a look architecture and design elements. The students are eager to start creating and learning about different famous structures and try their hand at becoming engineers!

Thank you so much for contributing to our school and our students' futures!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

  • Creating Lifelong Readers!

    Funded Oct 28, 2016

Thank you all so very much for donating to our reading project. These resources have been so encouraging and inspirational for so many students. The beautiful color photos, interesting stories and engaging topics have helped my students each meet their weekly reading goal. They are so excited every Monday to get to choose a new book to take home for the week. They have all been so careful and responsible with the books and hold each other accountable for bringing them back so they can each have a turn. These amazing kids are so grateful to have so many reading options now available to grow their reading skills, learn to enjoy literature, and share thoughts and ideas on what they have been reading. It is so exciting as a teacher to see the fantastic conversations taking place, reading growth, and love of reading develop because of your generous donations to these amazing kids!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

My students need a variety of texts at their individual reading level to help them grow as readers. Each year, students are assessed and given an instructional reading level. While 3rd grade students should be reading at a specific level, many students are reading far below grade level and some are exceeding expectations. This leveled library will allow me to work with smaller groups of students who are reading on the same level, and focus on specific skills and strategies that they may need extra support with practicing. Because each level has several texts, students will be able to practice these reading skills across several high interest books.
