My students and I want to thank you for funding our "Pirate Nation" project. We sincerely appreciate your monetary contributions that opened the door for us to grow academically and learn what reporters and journalists do in their career field. The camera we received is really high tech and truly amazing! It takes great pictures and we will do our best to share some more pictures with you soon. It's because of your generosity, we can enjoy new and challenging experiences in our journalism class. In addition to taking pictures, we can make videos too. Now we no longer have to write and take lots of notes when we interview people which is a timesaver. We truly feel lucky to have donors like you who really care about educating students and helping us grow to our fullest potential. My students and I really want you to always know that your kindness will never go unnoticed! We are so very grateful for your continued patronage and partnership with DonorsChoose. Last, I am happy to share with you that a couple of my students are seriously thinking about becoming professional photographers and journalists. I teach 15 wonderful students in my journalism, newspaper, broadcasting class comprised of sophomores, juniors, and seniors. My students come to class each day with smiles, materials, and a willingness to want to learn. Prior to this year, I have always taught English Language Arts. So this will be my first year teaching the journalism, newspaper, and broadcasting curriculum. At first, I was a little apprehensive about teaching this class when it was offered to me until the first day I met my students. Instantly, the jitters disappeared because they came to class with so much positive energy. During my teacher introduction, I told them my story and all of my students were okay with it being my first year teaching this class. I asked them to be patient with me and they will have my upmost support. Since day one, we have been working on finalizing our first newspaper project. Our goal is to post it on Nov. 6, 2018:)
