Deliver Us From Our Old Devices
Funded Dec 13, 2021Where to begin! Technology is a must & to have updated running computers in our classroom is a plus. COVID shifted the way our world did business, including the world of education. Now, our scholars can research projects, complete assignments & district learning apps right in the convenience of our classroom thanks to generous donors like you. You are amazing!
This experience was two-fold. Here's the other part of the lesson they learned, Ask & it can be given! I wish you could've seen the scholars face as we unboxed the devices. That made my heart smile to see the exuberance in their eyes. I want to extend my gratitude of thanks for meeting the need. I greatly appreciate you.”

Funded Oct 21, 2021Readers are leaders... I truly believe that in my heart of hearts! Reading unlocks every door that is closed. When a child can experience reading first hand, they are introduced to a whole new world. The students were so excited when we opened the box & they saw all those books. Now, we can do novel studies & in-depth literacy studies because of your kind & thoughtfulness. Our state standardized test usually puts a lot of realistic fiction & I'm so happy my students have these books to build the bridge and make that connection.
I thank you & my amazing students do as well! Bless you all!”

Funded Aug 25, 2021I really wanted to take this moment to say thank you! You didn't have to donate to my classroom, but you did & we are appreciative of it. I serve children in a low SEC area, and every bit helps. Especially, delicious healthy snacks that will give their brains the fuel they need to be successful! The breakfast bars really come in handy when scholars miss breakfast at home. Breakfast is especially important for young students whose brains use up about half of the body's energy. Studies show eating a healthy breakfast before starting the school day is linked to improved concentration, better test scores, increased energy, a higher intake of vitamins and minerals, and even a healthier body weight. Thank you for meeting the need.”

Funded Dec 20, 2016All I can say is, "Wow!" The Scholars of the Yearbook Club were shooting from the roof when the supplies arrived at our school. The cameras were a big hit! If looks are worth a thousand words, the countenance on my face was priceless. The smiles on their face reached their ears. As an educator that's what this job is all about-- presenting new experiences that will last a lifetime. Many of our scholars never had the opportunity to use a digital camera before. There was a learning curve associated with the cameras inserting SD cards and batteries. Prior to this, most of their photos were usually taken by a cell phone device.
The Yearbook Club had the opportunity to capture our Black History Program. Our program was voted the one of the top Black History Programs in the district. Did I mention that our District Superintendent attended the performance and our scholars captured his presence?
The Yearbook Scholars had the opportunity to chronicle and snap pictures of this event. This experience was two fold because the scholars had the opportunity to see changes in Black history over the years and how far the African American culture has come over the years. Several important black history makers were highlighted during the program.
The Yearbook Club also went to NASA to partake in the STEM program in Clear Lake, TX. NASA's education program strives to "inspire and motivate students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics" by supporting education in the Nation's schools and to "engage the public in shaping and sharing the experience of exploration and discovery" by supporting informal education and public outreach efforts. NASA's commitment to education places special emphasis on these goals by increasing elementary education participation in NASA projects; enhancing higher education capability in STEM disciplines; increasing participation by underrepresented and under-served communities; expanding e-Education; and expanding NASA's participation with the informal education community. Many of our scholars were beyond ecstatic to see a space shuttle in person. The field trip provided hands-on experience for the scholars to apply the knowledge they learned. While they were capturing the moment, many of them realized they could be anything they wanted to be. Why? Because the sky is the limit.
Thank you for your resources to help make a difference in our scholars lives. We are creating lifelong memories and for that I am grateful.
Again, thank you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Jones
