My students have a lot of sensory needs and the majority of the items I am requesting are tools for those needs. Sensory deficits make focusing on learning a challenge. For example, many of these student want to fidget and being able to move on the wiggle stools will accommodate this without creating a distraction. I also want to help students that get upset, calm down and having fidget items along with a weighted blanket will encourage feeling grounded and calm. My students requested erasable pens to make writing fun, and a pencil sharpener for keeping those always dull pencils sharp. We haven't had a good pencil sharpener for nearly two years. We are excited to get these items. Lastly, I really need a bookshelf for the organization. My current set up is awkward, and it makes my transitions between lessons a challenge. I am so excited to have a bookshelf to be more efficient.
