We are requesting seven chromebooks to assist our American and World History classes with the integration of technology into their daily curriculum. The Chromebooks offer quality Internet access and they integrate seamlessly with Google Apps. They are very durable and require very little maintenance. We believe the chromebooks are important tools in ensuring that our students acquire the 21st century information skills they will need to be successful in college, on the job, and as active members of society. The chromebooks will allow classroom learning to become increasingly interactive resulting in more time with students actively engaged. The Internet access will enable students to experience history in a much more meaningful and relevant way as they participate in virtual field trips of historical places, create electronic timelines, and complete multimedia research projects. Accessing Google apps will allow students to share ideas and work in real time on projects. Because they are small and lightweight, the chromebooks are highly portable. Students may move easily within groups to collaborate on projects and assignments. Through participation in collaborative discussions, students are strengthening skills in brainstorming, creativity, sharing responsibility, and working effectively and respectively as a team member. We look forward to placing additional Chromebooks in our classrooms as we move towards 1 to 1 technology. Thank you for assisting us towards this goal. Your support makes a difference!
