  • Warm Floor for Learning

    I wanted to reach out to you and thank you all again for supporting our classroom by contributing to our new classroom rug. It has had a huge impact on our day-to-day activities.

    The students loved the rug from the moment it arrived. They've not only gained a comfortable place to sit on the floor in the classroom, but also have grown a fondness for the solar system, often playing games by sitting on the various planets.

    We're looking forward to the remainder of the school year as the students continue to spend their time on the rug, playing, reading, doing yoga and simply having a soft place to sit. On behalf of the students of my classroom at Martin Luther King Jr. K-8, thank you!”

I am requesting an area rug for my students. The rug will be used for morning meeting, question of the day, read aloud, and other group activities that we can sit on the floor for. The students will also have a place on the floor to play during their brain break instead of the cold tile floor. The floor gets cold during the winter as we are in a portable with raised flooring. With the area rug, the students will have a warm and comfortable place to sit on the floor. This will help them in their learning because their focus will be on me, the teacher, instead of what is on the floor or what color yoga mat they are sitting on.

About my class
