• Construction Zone: Building Skills and Memories

  The generous donation of tools and protective floor coverings to our classroom has revolutionized our hands-on learning environment, particularly during our recent chariot-building project. With access to high-quality paint supplies and hot glue guns, students were able to construct small-scale chariots with precision and creativity that would have been impossible otherwise. The protective floor coverings allowed us to transform our standard classroom into a true maker space where students could work freely without worry of damaging school property. This created an atmosphere where experimentation was encouraged, leading to remarkable designs as students tested different construction techniques and decorative approaches with their newly available materials.

  This project provided students with an invaluable learning experience that extended far beyond the curriculum. As they collaborated on their chariots, students naturally engaged in problem-solving, spatial reasoning, and historical analysis while developing crucial fine motor skills. Many students who typically struggle with traditional learning methods thrived in this hands-on environment, discovering hidden talents and building confidence through tangible achievements. The donor's generosity didn't just provide materials; it created an opportunity for genuine engagement that awakened curiosity and enthusiasm across the classroom.   I want to personally thank you for supporting our classroom with your generous donation. When the kids found out their was a lot of excitement that this idea will become a reality. The capture stage and SD cards you provided allow this process to be so user friendly for the kids thank you so much!!! They now can create and design anything they want. They can learn about ancient civilizations in a different way. they can gain an interest in something that they have not maybe had before this project occurred. They can understand the complete process of 3D printing from start to finish. This has real world applications for my kids and their futures. It is all because of you! I thank you so much!!!”

• Create and Design in the Social Studies Class

  Students have been researching and creating their museum artifacts in class. They have learned a bit about the ancient civilization through their own studies. They have become completely engaged in the creative process and have problem solved all the way. Each group will have the opportunity to walk away with a 3D replica of their design. It has been fun a creative and the kids will never forget this.

  When they first heard we received your generous donation the kids were thrilled! They got down to work and were tremendous in their ability to collaborate and create. I am amazed at how they used the materials and technology to create something so quickly. I appreciate everything you have done for us. I thank you so much!”

• Listen Learn Love to Learn

  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous donation of a classroom set of headphones and carrying case. We use the head phones almost everyday while students are working on their iPads. I have created video lectures and quizzes in which students watch a video on a given topic and then answer questions on that particular video. The headphones allow students to be self-paced in their learning and allows them to learn the content more effectively. Before your product only students who had their own headphones could work on the quizzes in class. Your donation has created equity among my student's learning and made our classroom a better overall place to be. I thank you for your support and I encourage you to look at our other projects so Macy's Somerset can become an even greater presence in our classroom.”

• The Great Debates

  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the collapsible podiums! We are a 7th grade social studies class who is focusing in on supporting our ideas with good evidence and sound reasoning. The debate format is perfect for this. We have or will have debates on which the students must chose sides and take a stand. Topics include, Which geographic feature was most important to students success? Which of the four great Chinese inventions was the greatest? Who is the greatest Pharaoh of all time? Each debate has palpable energy and excitement to it, as students argue over these topics. Your generous donation has made it possible. I thank you and look forward to future collaborations which could enhance students' education.”

The Google cardboard headsets have allowed my students to experience a museum that is 250 miles away from our location in a fun and interactive way. They have been exposed to artifacts that they would never have seen or known about. The headsets have allowed them to explore and learn through experience. Over time we will increase the number of museums and historic land marks we visit and create a catalog of places in which students can use the heads sets for learning.
