  • School Supplies Desperately Needed

    Funded Jun 14, 2024

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous contributions to our project, "School Supplies Desperately Needed." Your support has made a significant impact on our students and their learning experiences.

Thanks to your donations of glue and construction paper, our classroom has transformed into a more vibrant and creative space. These supplies allow our students to engage in hands-on activities, fostering their creativity and enhancing their understanding of important concepts. It's wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they create, collaborate, and express themselves through art and projects.

Your generosity has not only provided essential materials but has also shown our students that they are valued and supported. Knowing that we have a community that cares inspires both our educators and students to strive for excellence.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Leino

  • In Need of Art Supplies

    Funded Jan 9, 2024

I'm very grateful and thankful for the wonderful donations. My students were ecstatic and excited when they first saw what was inside the boxes. The art supplies were a life savor! Teachers receive very little funding each year, so it's extremely challenging to gather all of the materials needed to engage students with enriching and engaging projects. When I received the art donations, I felt overwhelmed with emotions and was eager to plan lessons that promoted individuality and creativity. In science, students learned about shadow and light by painting a sunset landscape and in social studies, students created their own portrait of George Washington while learning about his contributions to American history. My students have accomplished many projects, thanks to the kind and generous donors like yourself. The best part was witnessing my kiddos laughing and having fun while expressing and exercising their creativity through the arts.

My next step is to encourage students to use their imagination and creativity everyday, whether it's in ELA math, science, or social studies! Thank you once again for your generous donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Leino

  • Building CVC Words

    Funded Dec 25, 2023

I'm very grateful and thankful for the wonderful donations. My students were ecstatic and excited when they first saw what was inside the boxes. Right after I finished teaching my phonics lesson, I sent the kids to work in groups. It was great to see them working together and helping one another put together letters to make up words. While students were reading, I noticed that my English Language Learners were acquiring new sight words and building their vocabulary. The best part was witnessing my kiddos laughing and having fun while learning!

My next step is to expose students to challenging sight words that are commonly used in fiction and non-fiction books and push scholars to incorporate them into their writing. Thank you once again for your generous donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Leino

  • Books Are Important for the Mind, Heart, and Soul!

    Funded Oct 5, 2023

I am honored by your generosity in donating to my Donors Choose project titled Books Are Important for the Mind, Heart, and Soul! Your support has given me the opportunity to positively impact the educational experience of my students. My students have enjoyed the books as much as I have. They love going to the reading center because there is a book of interest for each child. They love taking books home to practice their reading skills. My students are learning to read thanks to these books. They are sounding out words, reading repetitive words and phrases, and learning new vocabulary words through decodable books. Learning has come to life for my sweet English learners thanks to generous people like you. Now we have fun books to read in the classroom and to take home.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Leino
