We all remember what it's like to sit in a chair for 6 hours at school. Providing a class set of yoga balls for my students to sit on, instead of chairs, will greatly improve their time here at school. Yoga balls have tons of benefits for students. First, it improves blood flow to the brain, which helps keep the student awake and engaged. It also provides an outlet for their bottled-up energy. Students can bounce in their seat, and not get in trouble! Sitting on a yoga ball improves posture and core strength. Currently I have one yoga ball in my class that I rotate through my students with the highest needs however, all my students would truly benefit from the alternative seating. Overall, my students will benefit greatly from being able to move around a little bit while still sitting and being actively engaged in their learning.
