My students and I have been reading A Child Called "IT". This is a phenomenal memoir of David Pelzer's life. Students who hate to read are almost done with the book, because they are engaged in the book. We have been able to do character study, and eventually introduce the concept of foreshadow in literature, and many other high order thinking with the help of this book. The hope is to continue this momentum of engagement by continuing to read the sequel of A Child called "IT"- The Lost Boy. With your help and donations my students can continue to enjoy reading while growing as diverse readers through instruction.
