Technology Gap= Achievement Gap
Funded Sep 14, 2010It's hard to believe half of the school year is already over! Time definitely flies and I am proud to say that in my classroom, it was time well spent.
With your contribution to our classroom and other contributions I have received in the past through DonorsChoose, I now feel like my classroom is better able to give my children what they need. With the net book we received, we've been better able to use technology on a daily basis. My students love to go to the computer workstation, they feel like they're playing when they're also learning at the same time. They are beginning to learn basic research skills which will come in handy in future years. The net book has even motivated them to write creatively and produce more thorough work because they know I let students with excellent work type their papers.
I am truly grateful for your kindness. We all are.”

Funded Dec 28, 2009Thank you so much for your help with my request for an LCD projector! So far it has made a major difference in our classroom and there are still so many possibilities. I have been able to engage the students with pictures, videos, and even games that really gave meaning to my lessons. Students even begged our computer lab teacher to teach them how to use PowerPoint so they can make something of their own to show on the projector! We are all so appreciative.
I am sharing the projector with the other third grade classes and those classes have enjoyed it just as much as mine. Our principal loves the impact it has had and is planning to include projectors for all classes in next year's budget. Previously she chose not to due to budget cuts. Thanks to your support, not only is my class benefiting, but soon all students at my school will be able to appreciate technology in the classroom!
Thank you for caring. Thank you for coming to this site and donating to my project and probably many others. Thank you.”

Ms. Millar
Slaying The 3rd Grade TAKS Reading Monster!
Funded Nov 1, 2009Thank you so much for the books and beanbag chairs! We have a great start to the perfect classroom library. The children have a renewed interest in reading and always want to read during their free time. It has definitely helped to develop reading fluency and the understanding of story elements.
It has been difficult getting funds to buy the vast amount to supplies I need as a first year teacher. These books are so appreciated and without your kind donation, they would not be possible. My kids have no need to fear the TAKS monster!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Millar
