My school is located in Queens New York which is the most ethnically diverse urban area in the world. We are fortunate to have children and families from 47 home countries and 33 different languages. As an art teacher, I am thrilled to have the ability to work with these students and parents to foster a love for the visual arts. Approximately, 70 children are English Language Learners and communication can sometimes be an obstacle for them in the classroom. iPads in the art room would support my ENL students to be able to become independent learners and take charge of their own learning. An iPad can become a tool to translate, a camera, a book, and a drawing tool.
