When I solicited my students' feedback for what I could do to improve their learning, the feedback was unanimous: add more books to the library! Our classroom library texts are leveled, and each student knows their reading level. This allows them to access texts that are challenging yet accessible, and spurs their reading growth. Text selection is, however, limited, especially for readers reading below grade level, and it's the students who are below grade level that desperately need appropriate texts. It is my hope that a fresh influx of leveled books will be beneficial for everyone in the class, especially my lower readers.
