America's Past Time

Funded Sep 18, 2017

I was want to take this time to thank you for your generosity. During these times of underfunding to schools and even more so to Physical Education departments its donors like you that allow for our students to have the proper equipment but more importantly the experience of participating in a fun and active P.E. class. The same experience that I and I'm sure you had growing up. With the lack of options for equipment students miss out on playing sports like baseball, kickball, volleyball, and others as well.

The donation of baseballs allows our students to play a sport that has seen a decrease in participation in recent years due to the rise of costs. Travel baseball has created a big gap from those well off and those not so fortunate with the costs of team fees, uniforms , travel costs for players and families and much more. In order to stay playing competitive baseball travel baseball is unavoidable. For me to be able to include baseball in my curriculum is exciting. Gives these students a chance to play a sport that most have never played.

With the donation of baseballs my students get to learn the basics of the game by playing simple throw and catch. Once those skills are developed we will advance to developing batting skills and then to actual playing of the sport. So myself and on behalf of my students we thank you for making this a possibility and promise to pay it forward.”

With gratitude,

Mr. Rodriguez
