The "Key" to Blended Learning
Funded Dec 17, 2020Words cannot begin to describe how much it means to me and my students that this project has been fully funded. Due to your generous donations you were able to provide my students with supplies needed to ensure their safety and success during these unprecedented times.
All of the materials that have been purchased are being put to great use. My students are now able to learn in ways they were unable to before with the use of their keyboards and stylist pens. When they enter the classroom each day, they feel safer knowing we have an air purifier as well!
We cannot thank you enough for your support! You made it possible for me and my students to continue our learning during these challenging times while being able to feel safe in our classroom in a time where not many places feel safe!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Scala

Funded Feb 5, 2019First I would like to thank you again for your generous donations. Words cannot begin to describe how grateful we are for all of you. The Student Council truly loves working in the school store and using the cash register and coin counter. They have been able to learn the value of money through these tools and what it takes to run a business. They were able to pick up using the cash register quickly! They also have a great time using the coin counter at the end of a long busy day! As we teach our students to use these resources we are allowing them to have independence, they run the store! They handle all sales while the store is open because of the materials that were donated. We look forward to continued success when using our cash register and coin counter.”

In a World of Uncertainty, Be Certain to Choose Kindness
Funded Sep 6, 2018First I would like to thank all of the donors for their generous donations towards this project. My class and I are so grateful. Incorporating this novel into our curriculum has taught my student strong life lessons. It has given them the opportunity to be kind to others in their journey of life.
This novel has inspired my students to become better people and has encouraged them to teach others how to become better people. We loved reading this novel together as a class. We would all sit in a circle in our carpet area and dive right into the story the second we could. The students loved analyzing the different characters, making predictions of what could happen or what they wanted to happen. Each student fell in love with at least one of the characters from the novel.
My students in the 4th grade have been reading many books this year and those novels have opened their minds to various topics. One topic that has always been challenging is getting the students to fully understand what it means to be kind to one another. This novel has truly changed their understanding of being kind to one another. My students at P. S. 28 Wright Brothers Elementary now understand that in a would full of uncertainty, they choose to be kind.”

Funded Dec 29, 2016Words cannot begin to describe how thankful we are for all of your generous donations. Receiving this camera has made a huge positive impact on the Student Council as well as the population of our school. In the past we have never had a chance for the students to take pictures of our events to cherish the memories made throughout the school year but now we can. Our historian who is in charge of taking a majority of our pictures has learned how to use this camera and has learned the value of being responsible for something that belongs to our Student Council.
The most exciting part of getting this piece of technology was the impact it had on the creation of our 5th grade yearbook. In the past we have had very poor quality pictures due to lack of equipment but this year that was not the case! We were able to take over 500 pictures that we had to go through to decide what to include in the yearbook and what needed to just be displayed throughout our school.
Even though this camera is used during Student Council, the student body seems to react very positively towards it. Everyone gets excited when they see our Historian or any other Student Council member walking around with the camera around their neck ready to capture a fun and exciting moment. This camera was able to bring such joy to our school community we cannot thank you enough for donating towards this project. On behalf of myself and the Student Council we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

Ms. Scala
One, Two, Three Let's Project What We See!
Funded Oct 5, 2016First and foremost thank you again for your generous donations made towards this project! Since receiving the ELMO Visual Presenter my students have a whole new attitude towards learning in the classroom. Each day they come in ready and excited to use the ELMO. They enjoy being able to project the work that they have completed for others to see. Not only do they enjoy using it for their own work, but they enjoy being able to see visuals magnified. They call themselves little detectives when we are projecting visuals from our Science and Social Studies curriculum.
We have been using the ELMO everyday during instruction. I mainly use it to model the work that needs to be completed. The students are the ones that are using it often. They love to show their work to others. Each time a student shares their work a sense of pride beams from their faces. Also, they love to pretend to be the teacher while they are using it!
One thing that truly makes me happy is seeing students who are usually shy within the classroom atmosphere ask to use the ELMO! This small piece of technology has been able to make them feel less afraid to stand up in front of their peers and share there work with others! Thank you again for everything that you all have done to make this project come to life!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Scala
