Virtually Anything is Possible!
Funded May 6, 2024Thank you for the continued support to my classroom. The technology has made my lessons so much more engaging and concrete for my students. The meta quest takes learning to a whole new level. With the immersive experiences I am able to take students on virtual field trips experiences otherwise not possible. For example diving with whales, sharks, space walks, immersive storytelling and fun events such as musical performances. Not only is the VR set used to teach the kids, but it also helps to motivate them to participate in class.
Students love the fact that they have never used this technology in class before. They love the novelty of it. They also like how the experience makes them feel. They like being able to see things up close.
They are all excited about having this device in class! They think its super cool that we get to use a "video game" to learn.”

Funded Oct 30, 2023Omg these resources have been amazing! The students use the writing tablets everyday! They are great because they are colorful and don't make a mess. The kids love using them. The level of engagement rises because they are utilizing a tool that was created to make learning more engaging. The stickers are just amazing as well. The kids can pick out a sticker every time they level up on a reading lesson. They are over the moon with the designs an the quotes written on them. The tapestry just a a little of pizzaz to the classroom. They set the tone that when we come to the room, we read and that reading is incredibly fun and enjoyable.”

Funded Oct 30, 2023Thank you so much for the materials I was able to purchase for the calm corner in the classroom. Everything purchased has been a great addition for the class. The posters provide a constant reminder of how to manage our emotions and express how they are feeling. The pillows also serve the same purpose. The pillows, lighting and fidget toys have also provided students multiple layers of calm. The pillows and fidget toys allow students to touch something soft and it gives them the sense of control when they may feel out of control. The lighting is excellent because I am able to create a calming and welcoming environment, which helps put the kids in a calm stay from the beginning. My classroom is clean, organized and now the lights make it soothing and calming.
Often times I find that kids don't generally get spaces where they can relax and sit and read or simply enjoy the calming affect of a bubbly lava lamp. I have realized that many of my kids will stop by and just want to sit in the seats reading a book while enjoying the calm and peaceful ambiance.”

Funded Apr 8, 2023The books that I received from this project have been keeping my students engaged and coming back for more. I am now an intervention teacher and I get to work with students from grades 4-6th so the impact is greater than expected. My library is now an exciting place full of new and relevant books the kids actually want to read. I am grateful to everyone who supported my project and believes in the power that books have in the lives of people. The exciting part about all of this is that the books don't stay on the shelves long enough before someone else wants to check them out. Again thank you for the support and generosity.”

Funded Apr 6, 2023Thank you so much for your generosity. With the supplies I received I have made my classroom where success is celebrated and rewarded. The kids are excited about coming to my class. They are excited about participating, sharing ideas, coming prepared and most importantly being an active participate in their own learning. When the students participate and come to school prepared they receive tickets. The tickets are then used to purchase items from the student store. They love that they get to choose what they want to buy. They also love that they are able to buy things as they want them so it's a quick reward for some. I have other children who save their tickets for those larger items. The items I received from this donation gave me a start and I have slowly been adding more and more to it.
Thank you again for believing in our public education!!”

Funded Jan 1, 2023My students have been using these headphones on a regular basis. We use them throughout the day during stations, independent practice and review. Since we have headphones the kids are able to concentrate on what ever assignment they are working on. The classroom is much more calm because while some are working on an independent activity online, I can work with kids on a one-to-one basis. The students love how sturdy they feel and how colorful they are. They love that they are comfortable on their ears and that they don't have to borrow from anyone else. All of my kids truly appreciate what I bring to my class, but these headphones were a huge hit because we were struggling to get things done by simply lowering our volume and some of the kids bringing their personal headphones from home.”

Basic Necessities Needed
Funded Oct 26, 2022The resources I received included: Timers, digital clock, dry erase markers, magnet clips, pair of scissors, staplers, sharpener, colorful card stock and batteries. These materials have been put to use since the day I received them. The timers, and dry erase markers, have been used during my literacy stations. The timers are helping my students keep track of their fluency practice. The kids time themselves reading out loud to each other and record their times. The goal for them to beat their time each time they come to the fluency station. The dry erase markers have helped when we do small group. Within the small group students get to practice different skills. Having the markers allows the kids to show their understanding. The digital clock has made it so much easier for students to keep track of the time and transition times. I have students who are still having difficulty telling time. The timer makes it easier for them to know what is going on throughout the day. The stapler, scissors and sharpener has made it so much easier to set up activities for them. Since I have tools I am able to have those available for them to used independently. Finally, the cardstock has made many activities interesting and colorful.”

Funded Mar 10, 2022I cannot begin to tell you what a difference having a speaker with a microphone makes. The speaker is being used to have the kids present, watch instructional videos, listen to music while we work, listen to songs during transitions and just having it play during our breaks. I really like that the speaker connects easily to my computer without any issues. The kids never complain that they cannot hear (this was an issue before). While playing outside the kids like that we can listen to tunes while they work out.”

It's Fun Getting Fit!
Funded Mar 2, 2022Thank you so much for donating the funds to my classroom. We have been using the resources during our physical education time. The students were so excited when we opened all the boxes and started taking everything out! They felt like it was Christmas morning. They couldn't believe we had so much equipment to play with. The kids were so excited about the dodgeballs, soccer balls, flag football and all the other goodies that were donated! We will continue using the materials to support physical education and the importance of being physically fit.”
