  • Chromebook to the Rescue!

    Funded Sep 24, 2021

Thank you for the donation!! My students will be able to work on different activities online. This will help them become more familiar with using websites like nearpod and iready. It will also give my students the opportunity to practice using technology during instruction. Chromebooks are easier for some of the students to use, making them feel more confident in using technology. The use of apps ensures that each student is learning and being challenged to improve. Having the Chromebook will help my students learn every day. Thanks again!”

  • Uniquely Yours

    Funded Aug 3, 2020

Thank you so much for funding my project. As you know this hasn't been the most traditional school year. This project brought smiles to the faces of my students as they came to pick up their school supplies this year. Each child was presented with a personalized book bag, pencil case, water bottle and face mask. They were so excited to see their unique names on all the items. I look forward to creating more personalized items for my students in the future, and to possibly have them create their own designs once we are back to normal at school.”

  • Can You Hear Me Now

    Funded Jul 9, 2019

Thank you so much for funding our project. My students love using the microphone and speaker. They have been practicing reading books, as well as their own work. I truly believe they are becoming more confident in reading aloud and speaking in front of others. They love to hear their unique voices which brings a smile to my face. This technology will not only add to our classroom but it will also be used school-wide. We look forward to using this equipment in our assemblies and during our parent visits to the classroom.”

  • STEM Organization

    Funded Aug 5, 2019

Thank you for funding our STEM Organization Project. The students started the year with learning how to use the STEM equipment in the computer lab. They have been practicing taking out the equipment and returning them properly for the next class. My students love to play with dash the robot! They use challenge cards to learn the fundamentals of coding. They will begin to use the sketch kit to bring their coding creations to life by designing their own coding activities. We are so grateful to our donors for their generous donation.

    Thank you,

  • Little Bits for Little Inventors

    Funded Apr 24, 2019

My students were so excited when the boxes arrived. They opened the boxes and couldn't wait to use the circuits and start building. I believe using Little Bits has helped engage my students by creating a classroom filled with fun and exciting projects. I believe this project has and will continue to give me students a better understanding of the world around them. I want them to be creative and reinvent technologies that they find to be interesting. My goal is for them to become become more confident, independent thinkers and problem solvers. I feel that this project has helped them begin to build life-long skills which are essential for success in the future. Thank you again for contributing to my project, the students now have a basic background using Little Bits, I cant wait to see what next year holds.”

  • iPads for All!

    Funded Feb 1, 2019

Words cannot express how thankful I am that you funded my project. My students are so excited!! Now that we have the iPads, I just introduced Scratch Jr. to the younger grades. They are loving it!! Before this we were coding using lightbot, now my students get a chance to see coding in a different way. I have also used the iPads to help some of my students with disabilities. Some of my students have difficulty with using the mouse so this has helped them feel more successful when using the computer to code.

I have found that coding with my students has helped boost their problem solving and logic skills. They learned to take complex problems (puzzles) and break them down into smaller parts. This opportunity has helped them feel more confident and successful in seeing their full potential. Thank you again for making this possible. We will be thinking of you every time we use them.”

The I-Pads included in this project will be used by all students from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade. Most of my students have no computers or tablets in their homes so they have very little experience using technology. Being able to use technology will help them prepare for high school, college or any career that they may be interested in. All students are first taught the basics of how to use tablets and internet safety. Every grade will use the I-pads to support their learning and address their needs. All students will be introduced to coding. The pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students then use apps that teach them songs, letters of the alphabet and numbers. The older children use tablets to read and listen to books, research, play math and other academic games. They also begin to learn to use the camera to record themselves.
