Funding for reading materials is scarce, so providing text for shared reading experiences can be very difficult. A document camera allows all students to be able to see the same materials as they are projected on the screen making multiple copies of books not necessary. Many times, students try to explain how they solved a problem in math; however, only the students nearby can see how they manipulated materials to figure out their answer. A document camera will allow the students to manipulate and explain how materials were used to solve while making the materials visible to all students. Lastly, teaching and practicing games and center activities will be much easier as they can be more visible to all students. Overall, a document camera will make learning more accessible to all students and allow for better understanding and more engagement.
