  • Let's Play...Indoor Recess

    Funded Feb 13, 2025

Thank you so much for your generosity. My students have had their indoor recess go from blah to so engaging! They are really enjoying the kinetic sand and the play doh. They are being very creative with their time while being in a calm state.

The puzzles and new games are a hit as well. They are interacting with each other in a positive way while passing recess time. They are not screaming or running around. They are truly engaging with each other in a fun and meaningful way.

Thank you so much for making indoor recess, not only tolerable, but fun! These students need a brain break and these activities help them decompress from the morning and get ready for an afternoon of more learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wall

  • Spelling Bee Medal Bonanza

    Funded Nov 3, 2024

The students who participated in the Spelling Bee were so excited to get the incentives. The medals are something that they can treasure for years to come. They are such high quality that a winner said, "It's so heavy!" with a beaming smile so proud of herself.

The participants who received participation ribbons, pencils, and bracelets were just as excited as the winners. They all felt proud that they were recognized for the extra work they put into the Spelling Bee. Many of them studied together, with families or teachers.

These incentives encourage more students to try to compete in the Spelling Bee, which in turn creates better spellers and ultimately better readers and writers.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wall

  • Bookshelf Bonanza

    Funded Dec 29, 2023

Thank you so much for the book shelves. They have really helped with storage and making materials more accessible for the English Learners. My students can easily retrieve work station materials independently.

These shelves not only make the classroom look neater, they also make it more efficient. My students can be more engaged with less time wasted asking or looking for specific materials.

We are continually grateful for all the support our classroom receives from generous donors like you! It is truly appreciated.”

  • Summer Supplies

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

These supplies arrived in time for the Fall school session to begin. Each student was able to get a folder and pencil to start with. They all had a choice as to what color that they'd like and it helped keep everyone organized. The bubbles were used as an incentive for reading their sight words and completing the sight word and fluency booklet. Everyone was motivated to practice the words. The word search books were given to students who are excited about words. They worked together to not only find the words, but to discuss what the words were and how they were related. It was a fun activity which promoted vocabulary growth.”

  • Spelling Bee Incentives

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Today we held our School Wide Spelling Bee and the participants were beyond excited to see the swag they would receive. Each student received a bracelet, a name tag, a pencil and a participant ribbon. They were enthusiastic about competing and were happy that they were celebrated with some incentives. The winners loved the medals with the cute bees. The audience members became excited stating that they would like to participate next year to earn the incentives and possibly even win and get a medal. The families were proud of their students and were happy that they would have something to remember the event by. Everyone was excited to have the medals and ribbons to show that they accomplished something after the hard work they did to prepare.”

  • Books! Books! Books!

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations! My English Learners were so excited to get these books. They were able to choose the ones that they liked best to take home- especially since they were in English. The different levels made it more meaningful.

Once the students chose their books, they immediately started to read them. They were sharing with their friends and reading together. It was a great moment to end our school year.

Thank you for your kindness in supporting my English Learners!”

  • ESL Material Storage

    Funded Jan 11, 2022

These cabinets are life-changing! The students were so excited to see them in our classroom. They are a clean, crisp white color that brighten the space while organizing our materials. Our classroom needed this organization because we are fortunate to have many amazing materials and activities for our English Learners to use. These cabinets allow us to actually see what we have which lets us use the materials more consistently. One cabinet is used to organize my teaching materials and activities while the other one allows the students to have a choice in activities for their independent learning stations. It is so amazing to have these cabinets to organize our materials. Thank you again!”

  • Basic Supplies for Bilingual Minds

    Funded Sep 18, 2021

These materials have been so helpful! We use the notebooks and folders during our small group time. We organized our groups by the color of the folder, which makes transitions more efficient. The students can also take an active role in being organized as well. They can easily find their color-coded notebook with its folder. I can't say enough about the pencils and the pencil sharpener. Students ALWAYS need pencils and the high quality sharpener we have helps keep them ready to use.

The dry erase markers and boards add so much to small group instruction. The students love to use them! They are engaged and benefit from having different ways to show what they have learned. My students can write an answer and can get individualized feedback quickly.

Lastly, the kleenex, wipes and masks help keep us healthy! It is so amazing to have these supplies to clean and sanitize. My students can come to their classroom knowing that we are keeping them as safe as we can during this pandemic.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wall

  • Books for Home Libraries

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations! Many of my English Learners do not have books, especially in English. I am so excited that they each received two books at their levels to read and keep at their homes to build a home library.

These books will stimulate their imaginations and expand their understanding of the world. They will also help develop language and listening skills, which will lead to more fluent reading. These students will be able to practice their reading and have fun while increasing their fluency.”

  • Brain Quest Books for Summer Learning

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations. My English Learners are excited to continue learning at home. The Brain Quest Workbooks for grade 1 are engaging. These resources help them practice skills and learn a few new ones. The Sight Word books will help them continue to read and write in English during the summer. They will continue to strengthen their English literacy skills!

My English Learners were so thankful to receive these resources. We have some students in person and some virutal at home which has been very challenging. I hope you know the impact that you have made!”

Each one of my English Language Students has an English Sight Word and Fluency Phrases booklet. We call these words our Popcorn words because they should "pop" into your mind when they are read. My students use these booklets throughout the day in guided reading, literacy centers, and as homework. My students not only read these words, but use them to strengthen their English writing. As I walk into the classroom each morning, my English Language Students exclaim, "Can I take the test?!" They are so excited to progress through the booklets to show me how they can "read English"! They are so engaged. This strong foundation is creating a love of reading that has transferred into recreational reading, too. They are not only choosing Spanish literature, but English as well.
