We are grateful that your donation has made an impact on the students in our class.

The students were so excited and thrilled to be able to get their own sized portion of snacks. It was great seeing their beaming smiles and joy when they realized that extra care and attention was given to them. The fact that you took the time to care and share

left them feeling and knowing that someone cared enough to do something about it. For that we are thankful and so appreciative. Your action of care gave us joy. Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Coombs-Joseph

It's a joy to see how your gift to our class library is transforming the lives of my students. Students are excited to pick up a new book to read. They are excited to find a book that sparks their curiosity and thinking. They are excited to hold a discussion with their classmates and give feedback about the books they read. They are excited to go to the library, and have choices based on their interests.

The books are wonderful for doing individual book reports or critiques, and developing other reading skills. One of the skills we focus on is finding the main idea and details.

Having an individual book gives each student the opportunity to read at leisure and respond in a thoughtful manner to the skill being addressed in the classroom. The new library also lend itself to the study of theme in a series, or even to the author's craft used in a series of books.

The sample of work displayed includes students responding to the book they are holding. Some responses included summaries of particular chapters, or the main idea and supporting details of that particular book.

The class and I are indeed grateful to have this opportunity to show our appreciation of your generous gift and how it benefits us. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Coombs-Joseph

I have a group of 20 students who are excited to be back in school. They are eager to do what is necessary to readjust to learning and growing in a nurturing environment with their peers. We all recognize that there will be challenges. Nevertheless, we are prepared to work together as a school community and provide equal access to all students so that they can be successful.
