So Close!
Funded Dec 28, 2024I am so excited to break ground on our volleyball courts! Over the last 2 months my focus was on our track team and getting them ready for our local meet, now it's finally time to focus on the volleyball courts. We recently started in-school clubs once a month and of course I chose volleyball. I tried to set up a make-shift net for our last meeting, it survived but nothing like what we are about to have! The interest is there and now the equipment will be as well.
I'm hoping I can get more girls and boys involved in the growing sport of volleyball. We have quite a few local club teams in the area but it's a big financial commitment. I can't wait to share what I have learned and continue to learn about the sport with the kids. This is all made possible by your donations, thank you for supporting physical education and my vision!”

Funded Aug 10, 2022I'm so excited to use the new pickle ball equipment after winter break! I assembled everything as soon as I received it and the kids have been begging to use it.
Having two different sized rackets to choose from will provide students the opportunity to use what fits them best while they learn.
The storage cart definitely makes it easier to organize the equipment and allows the kids an easy way to clean up (which saves me time).
I was surprised how many kids were already familiar with the game! Thank you again for supporting our Suntree PE program:)”

Funded Aug 24, 2021These nets are awesome! I set a few up during "free choice" days to get an idea on how I can arrange them once we start a lesson and the kids loved them. I had kids that are usually hesitant to participate playing badminton and enjoying it:) They passed the 6th Grade test-the kids used them and the nets stayed standing.
I have 6 net systems which I can set up and have 4 kids per net. That's 24 kids in motion without waiting for a turn! The support I've received since taking on this new position is amazing. I appreciate you for making this possible!”

Funded Nov 24, 2020I can't wait to have these courts installed! The sport of beach volleyball is growing in popularity and more high schools are establishing beach volleyball teams and installing courts. I love that I will have the opportunity to teach the younger kids the fundamentals of a game that continues to have an impact on my life.
We've had a few setbacks with the pandemic, but I'm confident by the end of the year we will have our feet in the sand! The interest is there, and hopefully the love for the game will develop over the years.
Thank you for your donations and making one of my visions come true:)”

Funded Oct 1, 2020I can't even thank you enough for your donations! When I first started this project, I wasn't sure if I could raise enough money to do it. I've had other classroom projects but nothing this big.
When we closed the schools last year because of Covid, this was something I thought would help lesson the spread of germs in general. Once we started this school year our water fountains had signs stating they could only be used to refill water bottles. It was painful to watch the little kids try to angle their water bottles only to fill them half way up.
The water fountains are amazing. The kids were so excited when they were installed and I honestly had never used one before until now! These have truly made a difference at our school. We've had additional donors purchase fountains as well and we have almost replaced all of the old fountains. We couldn't do what we do without you! Thank you again for donating to this project:)”

Funded Sep 4, 2019My students use the water cooler everyday! I think they even drink more water now and that's a good thing:) More students are bringing in their reusable water bottles and refilling them throughout the day. That was my goal and so far so good!
My students were so excited when the box arrived! I couldn't get it set up fast enough and it has been used everyday since. They absolutely love it:)
I try my best to emphasize less waste in my classroom. I know we could always do more and this is only one way we can help. Finding other ways to reuse/recycle our plastic/paper in the classroom is our next step. Hopefully my kids will continue to care about what we do to our planet and maybe even become an advocate for change.
Thank you again for funding my class project. We truly appreciate your kindness!”

Fulfill Our Wishes, We Need Tables and Benches!
Funded Nov 27, 2018My students couldn't wait to put the tables together! I took the pieces out of the box and had them stacked in the classroom when they came in. I'm not sure who was more excited to start assembling our new tables! They were part of the process and it took about half the day to get everything the right way. Once they were assembled, they of course had to try them out:)
We use them just about everyday for either reading, independent work, snack, or station work. They are light enough to move inside easily if the temperature is a little too cold outside. Inside we've used them for the same as outside but added it into our kitchen play area (great place for a tea party and pizza).
We are currently finishing up our grade level project which included hatching chicks and ducks from an incubator. We recently added a larger fish tank and have some very young (small) fish that we get to observe as they grow. As for our next project, I would like to plant some cotton seeds that were harvested from an old plant on campus!”
