Acing the ACT

I would like to thank you again for your donation to "Acing the ACT." Since receiving the books in March, my students have completed approximately 25% of the practice questions. These books have been extremely helpful in more ways than I anticipated. Not only has it saved on copy costs, but it has allowed my students to work individually on different subject areas.

My class has generally focused on the Math area of the ACT, but since we have begun using the books, I have given the students two days per week for them to work on other areas at their own pace. Upon completing a test, the students go to the answer binders (I removed all of the answer sections when I received the books) and check their own tests. Because the answers are accompanied by explanations, the students are able to determine what mistakes they made and why they were made. After the students check their answers, we go over them together.

Of the students who took the test in April, 60% of them improved their composite score by at least two points. One student improved four points in Math. I foresee an even greater impact over the next semesters.
