A Special Carpet Spot for First Graders
Funded Aug 11, 2024Thank you so much for donating to our project of receiving a new carpet for our classroom! My students saw it rolled up when it got delivered and they were so excited to unroll it. We were finally able to set it out and the next morning when my students walked in they yelled with joy!
My students were so excited to see it and they immediately sat on their own circle spot. It has helped each of my students have their own, personal place to sit. They have been taking such good care of it and they all want to use the carpet sweeper to help keep it clean each day. They want to make sure it stays nice and they have taken real ownership of it being our classroom rug. Thank you all again so very much!”

Funded Sep 21, 2020Even though we are still distance learning, I have been able to use all these amazing games and activities with my students virtually. When we were learning our letter blends, I was able to put the crossword puzzles on my document camera and have my students blending and reading the words while I moved the letters. When they saw this game, they were so excited because it was different from the other activities we had been doing virtually. I have also been able to use some of the amazing journal prompts in the booklets for my students to respond to in their own daily journals. Now that we are about halfway through the school year, I will be able to use some of the more challenging writing prompt activity cards and the reading comprehension cards to help my students further improve their literacy skills.
Thank you all so much for the generous donations to me and my students!”

Funded Sep 8, 2019Thank you so much for helping my students with practicing reading and learning math facts in fun ways. They are enjoying using the Grab and Match Math quickie cards while practicing our multiplication and division facts. We have also been using the Match and Sort Language Quickie cards along side learning our various grammar lessons such as nouns and adjectives. They are great, quick games that my students are using to hone their skills after learning them as a class.
When my students first saw the box with all the materials, they wanted to open each and every activity right away! They have loved being able to time each other with the hour glass while practicing their reading fluency. They have also very much enjoyed reading the fantastic, funny Grammar Tales stories that have kept them giggling while reading.
I am so excited to begin using the Multiplication tower now that my students are more comfortable with their multiplication facts. It will be a great way for them to learn and have fun at the same time.”

Learning Through Hands-On Projects
Funded Aug 25, 2019Thank you so much for helping our classroom receive these awesome resources! When I opened the box and showed everything to my students, they could not contain their excitement. They wanted to begin using everything right away.
We began with the Building Brick STEM challenge kit. I let my students pick which challenge they wanted to complete and they worked in small groups to try and build the item on the task challenge card. They had to problem solve and work collaboratively to complete the challenges. They loved the fact that they were building with Legos (which they were familiar with), but they were even more excited that they were able to make things like a car and a ramp using the directions and then actually make the car go down the ramp.
Our next steps are to use the other amazing resources we got to hopefully improve upon our upcoming Urban Planning project-based learning lessons we will be working on over the next few months. I can't wait to see how they will continue to work together to use the materials donated to our classroom.”

We Can Visualize It!
Funded Aug 10, 2018Thank you so much for the generous donations made to my classroom! My students have been using the Visualize It! Part-Whole Cards everyday, working on their math skills and getting better every day! They also love playing the Can Do! Reading Informational Text and Parts of Speech Game and challenging each other on improving their language skills. It has been a great help to us when students take quizzes to have privacy partitions that give them their own quiet space to concentrate. We have loved using the computer mice to look up information about different things in class. We learned about the artist Gustav Klimt and created a birch tree art project from his similar artwork. With the colored computer ink, we were able to print out an example of his original art to compare it to our own. I was also able to print out colored math diagrams to use while teaching about various math concepts. We also love having colorful state standards posted next to our work to show everyone what we are learning. My students were so excited about all of these resources they couldn't wait to use them! Thank you so much for helping make my classroom a more enjoyable, productive place for my students.”

The Earth Without Art Is Just 'Eh'
Funded Oct 6, 2016My students and I have been busy using the products that were donated to us. We did many fall-themed projects using the Dot Art Painters, the watercolor paints, and the glitter glue. I have used the Art Clips to proudly display their work on our classroom wall. One of my students' favorite projects was writing about what they like to see in the Fall. They got to use the Dot Art Painters to decorate the top of their tree using fall colors. The students also made "leaf people" and we decorated the students' smiles with the glitter paint.
When I presented the Dot Art Painters to my students to complete their fall trees, it was the first time most of them had ever seen Dot Art Painters before and they loved getting to experience it. They also loved being able to use watercolor paints for a directed draw of a turkey we did for Thanksgiving. When we completed a pumpkin life cycle project on a plate, I was able to hang them up on the wall and the kids were very excited to see that they were up on the wall for display.
Since we first received the materials, my students have been eager to use the Dot Art Painters on more projects. They really enjoy being able to make different patterns with them. They also love using the watercolor paints to add color to their projects. I plan to utilize them for some winter and Valentine's Day projects. Thank you for making it possible for my students to be able to experience different types of art supplies.”
