Mastering Mathematics and Science through Technology
Funded Oct 9, 2019Many of the programs we use to enhance mathematics and science learning in school are accessed online. However, we still cannot keep up with technological updates. The few tablets and computers we have either get outdated and cannot support our systems
or they get irreparably damaged. That is the main reason why we don't have enough computers. Therefore, your donations are of great value to our class.
Students are very excited about the new tablets because having them widened their possibility of accessing required assignments. Without your wonderful donations, each of them would have to wait a longer time, and sometimes ,do not even have a chance to work on those assignments.
In addition, each year I introduce my students to coding. They just love it. Of course, they need a computer to do this exciting program.”

Funded Mar 9, 2019My students were very happy to receive the ETA hand 2 mind Daily Math Fluency set.
As soon as they opened the box, they wanted to use the different manipulative that came in the set to solve some word problems.
Hands-on is very helpful when it comes to designing a pattern. This hand 2 mind set is a great to facilitate the understanding of patterns. Therefore, the first activity we used your donation for, was to design different patterns. The students were able to make the transition from concrete to abstract.
As this school year is getting to an end, I am already thinking of the different lessons I will plan for my future students using the Math Fluency Centers. I am positive that the different activities that came with this manipulative will be utilized to enrich my students.
Thanks for your generosity.”

Virtual Science
Funded Oct 10, 2018My students are very excited to have new laptops to access their online homework. Our science book is interactive and all science homework is assigned online. Without your generous help, some students in my class would not be able to read on level books, or do experiments online . Their economy status does not allow them to have access to a computer at home. Therefore, as a teacher, I have to set aside some time so they can complete these activities in class. It is called Differentiated Instruction.
As my students' science understanding is increasing, their love for science is too. Also, their science grades are improving.
I also introduce my students to code.org. This is a site dedicated to teach students of all social economic levels that anyone can learn to code. They learn that a program is a simple text file, written in a certain coding language. They really enjoy doing this.”

Funded Nov 21, 2017The students in my class will be thrilled when they realize that they can "Picture It". The wonderful material you graciously donated to us will help us facing the daily challenges we encounter when trying to solve word problems. This process would become less difficult and more productive when using the Ipevo. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will be use often to facilitate the learning in our classroom.”

Funded Feb 4, 2017When my 4th graders saw the material for our project and realized that they will be launching a bottle rocket, they were startled. Immediately, their curiosity peaked up and all they wanted to do was to find out how everything worked. During each school year, we are not provided with many opportunities to do something other than following the daily routine. Thus, this a wonderful time for all of us.
There is a huge different between reading a problem about a Trundle Wheel and having the tool to measure distance. We are immensely grateful for you sacrificing your own resources to give these students a life changing experience. No, I am not exaggerating. over the years, I've seen many students developing the much-needed love for Science to successfully meet the demands of our modern society just from participating in a hand on activity.
This week the students will be launching their rockets, measuring the distance from the launching point to where it lands and measuring the amount of water poured into each rocket. They will also have to decide if the amount of water added to the rocket have any effect on the traveled distance.”
