This tablet will further engage my students in all of the aspects of learning, from research to product. They will have current, real-world experience to prepare them for the middle school and high school years, allowing them to take ownership of their learning in a more effective and current way. My students will be capable of enthusiastically exploring various subject areas, enhancing their learning, and producing open-ended, creative projects that reflect their higher-level learning. They will use the iPad mini to explore a specified subject area, then select an app to produce an open-ended project that reflects specified pieces of information as explained in a class rubric. Finally, they will share their final projects with classmates and also continue to learn how to implement different apps available. This will allow them to further experience success in the upper grades and build a sense of competence with today's technology.
