Let Us Teach You
Funded Mar 2, 2017Thank you so much for the wonderful resources for our classroom. When the students saw the boxes arrive they spontaneously started clapping. When we opened them their eyes were So wide. "What are we going to do with them?". They were mesmerized by the double dice!
We began by learning a variety of games to play. So far we've learned Tenzi, Fivzi, 2 different Spot it Games, Make 10 with playing cards as well as having a student teach us a game called Steal the Bundle. After we practice these games they will be sent home with students to play with their families.
Students will develop game bags and take home materials, and instructions for playing the games. Families would have the opportunity to check out the math and literacy games for a week.
Thank you so much for the wonderful materials and opportunity for students to share with their families!”

When Van Gogh Was In Kindergarten
Funded Dec 2, 2016Thank you so much for your generous donations. When the boxes arrived 20 pairs of eyes just stared at them. As we opened them their excited squeals filled the room. The joy in the student's eyes was incredible to witness. We have been having such fun choosing colors to match our skin using paints, markers and crayons. Our first project centered around Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We made portraits of ourselves to mirror the portraits we see of Dr. King. We also wrote about how we could be a peacemaker just as Dr. King was. The children held their hands to the various colors of paper to choose just the right one. We have begun a woodland animals project and are creating woodland animals in their winter habitat. The bright colored construction paper has been such fun for the children to choose from.
We are looking forward to utilizing these resources as we continue with a variety of projects during our kindergarten year!”

Kindergarten Engineers
Funded Oct 17, 2016Dear Donors Choose,
We are having an awesome time with our new Lego building bricks. The excitement of the students from the moment we walked into the classroom with three large wrapped packages to the unwrapping and investigating each individual box. Every child immediately began building, some utilizing the instructions supplied, others creating using their own ideas. They continue to refine and problem solve together each day. They love the opportunity to save their structures from day to day. Some of their favorites are building vehicles and garages!
One of our next steps is to have students who are still working on letters of the alphabet begin constructing the letters with bricks. We look forward to all the opportunities our new Lego building bricks will provide.”
With gratitude,
Teacher Begley
