In preschool, students learn the best through hands-on materials. It ignites their imagination and it is amazing to see the math, science, and literature skills they gain through puzzles and play. Hands on materials are costly and we need a wide range in the classroom. The items requested in this project will be used in centers to help the children learn how to sort, categorize, manipulate small objects, recognize patterns, and think logically. Children do this best when they can explore materials and make things. These materials will help the children love science and math through hands-on exploration. Our kids come from homes that might not have educational toys at home. It is imperative that they get as much exposure to it at school as possible. The items requested below are specifically targeting the children's ability to notice the difference in things like animals skins, the life cycle of a frog, how magnets work, categorizing things by attributes, learning how to graph, and understanding patterns. The joy in seeing their faces as they figure out a puzzle for the first time or the accomplishment of understanding patterns or sorting is priceless. Please help us gain more materials for our class and continue to sponsor the love of learning through play.
