  • Washing to Stay Healthy

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you for supporting our youngest of learners. With these timers, the students have had joy in washing their hands. They look forward to using the timer while washing. This is a huge part of our licensed facility. Sometimes, washing your hands can get boring. Some students do not want to wash their hands. Some students need assistance with hand over hand with washing their hands. This visual timer has been a game changer. This allows the students that don't want to wash know exactly when they will be done and can see visually a list at the end of a task they don't live to do. They want to get in and play!”

  • Let's All Count!

    Funded Nov 16, 2021

Thank you again for your generous support for my classroom. The students were so excited when they saw the new materials in the class. They immediately started exploring all the pieces and noticing the colors and the different ways they worked. They also starting using the math words that we wanted them to use, such as counting and comparing sizes. We will take these materials and use them to enhance our curriculum by adding them to our lessons so the students are more engaged and everyone can participate. Thank you so much for your support.”

  • Little Entrepreneurs!

    Funded Aug 24, 2021

Wow! The students were so excited to see all the cash registers with this project. They love counting the money over and over each day. They have really been able to practice counting skills, adding and subtracting skills and learning number literacy has increased. I now hear so many new "math words" during their play and it has also helped to increase their social skills and how to cooperate within a small group. The students are also bringing more of their knowledge from home to make connections about shopping. Thanks again for your extraordinary donations to make this possible.”

  • Shop! Shop! Shop!

    Funded Aug 18, 2021

We have been using the materials purchased through this project to help the students understand number concepts. They have been doing lots of counting and making sets. When we first opened the boxes, the students were so excited to get their hands on the materials and they all had to just hold the new materials and toys. Once we got it organized, they were able to use their play skills to explore and use some great vocabulary while playing with all the new materials. Overall, it was such a success and we truly appreciate all of the donations to make this project a winner.”

  • Babies and Dragons: All in a Preschooler's Day!

    Funded May 5, 2020

My class was super excited to see the new materials. They immediately wanted to play with the castle and the dragon in the castle. They also wanted to dress the dolls and play with their hair. One of the girls was very excited that the little boy had the color of skin that she had. Since first opening the materials, the students have played with the materials daily. They have enlarged their play with the castle and it now has other items added to it when playing. We hear lots of new vocabulary words when playing with the castle in the block area.”

  • Building Community: One Block at a Time

    Funded Dec 4, 2019

Thank you for the funds to allow us to purchase the blocks for our preschool classroom. The first day the blocks arrived, the children were so excited to open all the boxes of blocks. The children spread them all over the floor and just looked at all of them at first. Then they started building. They were excited to see the blocks with the faces on them. They worked and worked most of the morning building many towers and different items with the blocks.

Since opening the blocks on the first day, the children have played with the blocks everyday. At some point during the school day, you can see children building something new with their blocks. It has really added lots of STEM skills to our classroom.”

  • Colorful Creations

    Funded Apr 9, 2018

This project has allowed my students to use their creative skills for many new projects. We have used the paint and markers to create drawings of many new ideas. When we received the boxes in the mail, the students were so excited to unpack the materials and wanted to get started right away. We were able to start a new project each day. With the weather changing for the spring, we are planning on doing more creating outside with the materials that were purchased for this project. Thank you again for your very generous donations to allow my students to explore their creativity.”

  • Interactive Whiteboard for Young Scholars!

    Funded Jan 17, 2018

Thank you for donating funds for our iPevo Interactive Whiteboard. Our students have been able to be more interactive while working on the whiteboard in our classroom. They use it many days to write their names or letters on the board. They also use it to work on various games, such as counting games and pattern making games. One of their favorite activities with the interactive pen is to use it to put together mat man. They are able to drag the pieces of the puzzle to put the parts together to make the mat man. Thank you again from our students.”

My students are preschool students who come from diverse backgrounds. We also teach children with English as a second language. Each child comes to me with varying experiences. They need to be motivated and challenged every day. We are a high poverty district in which 78% of the students in the township qualify for free and reduced lunch. I believe all children have potential and can participate in all activities.
