  • A Spot for Everyone on the Carpet!

    Funded Oct 21, 2024

Keira, I hope this note finds you well. My students and I want to extend our deepest gratitude for your generous donation towards the purchase of a new carpet for our classroom.

Thanks to your support, we now have a beautiful, comfortable, and functional space for whole group instruction and independent work. The carpet is providing a welcoming area for students to collaborate, engage, and learn together.

Your kindness and commitment to education have made a tangible difference in the daily lives of my students. We are incredibly grateful for all that you've given us, which will support their academic growth and create lasting memories for years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. A. Wong

  • Doodle and Write With LCD Writing Tablets!

    Funded Apr 18, 2024

Thank you so much for the LCD writing tablets. They are such an important tool for my students to practice their spelling, share their answers/thinking during whole group meetings, and free drawing to develop their artistic skills.

My students love the color choices of the writing tablets. They get so excited whenever they get to use them during whole group meetings or individually to get help with spelling or just simply getting to do free drawing!

My hope for my students is to be excited about learning new things and acquire new skills to achieve their goals. They have all the tools they need in the classroom to achieve their dreams!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. A. Wong

  • Clutter-Free Classroom!

    Funded Apr 24, 2024

Keira, I want to thank you for always being so generous. You have funded so many of the my projects and my classroom has been transformed into a modern learning environment because of you!

My students are very grateful for all the things they have in the classroom, especially for all the furniture you've donated to make their learning space organized and accessible.

They are looking forward to a rainy day recess (haven't had one yet) so they can go to the storage unit and take out all the Lego sets and board games to play with. They're also excited to paint with all the canvases and paint I have stored in the storage unit.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. A. Wong

  • Durable Book Bins - Woohoo!

    Funded Jun 6, 2024

Words cannot express how grateful I am to generous donors like you. The sturdy colorful book bins are now filled with books by level and genre in my classroom library. My students are able to easily look for books they want to read and can return them to the correct bins with no issues.

I replaced all the old broken book bins with the new sturdy ones. My students look forward to book shopping for their independent reading books because my classroom library now looks so inviting—thanks to all the colorful book bins!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. A. Wong

  • Comfy Learning

    Funded Dec 10, 2023

Thank you SO MUCH for funding my project! The flex-space balance ball seats provide my students with an alternative option to regular classroom seats. I have quite a few restless and easily distracted students this school year. The balance balls allow them to bounce up and down while they do their work--reducing their restlessness and helping them focus!

When my students saw the balance balls, they were very excited--of course all of them wanted a chance to use them. With the addition of these balance balls, my classroom is closer to providing my students a dynamic learning environment that can support all different learning styles. Thank you again!!!”

  • A Special Book Bin Shelf

    Funded Sep 3, 2023

Keira, thank you so much for funding my project again! The mobile book bin storage shelf has been such a wonderful addition to my classroom. It can hold all my students' book bins and still have space left to store extra resources. The shelf is very sturdy and functional. My students are able to easily slide their book bins on the shelves for storage and grab them effortlessly whenever it's independent reading time.

When the book bin storage shelf came, my students were so happy to have a shelf big enough to store everyone's book bins. We have since found a perfect spot for it and know that it will be cherished and used for many years to come!”

  • Let's Wobble and Learn!

    Funded Aug 8, 2023

The wobble chairs have been a popular addition to my classroom. They're stationed at the small group activity table and used when I work with small groups for guided reading or one-on-one support. When the wobble chairs are not being used, they're rotated around for students to use at their tables during individual work.

When the wobble chairs arrived, my students were all super excited to have them. To be fair, I had to come up with a system to make all of them happy. Each week, a group of students can use them if they want to and the following week, another group gets to use them. They all look forward to using a wobble chair because they think it's fun to be able to spin and rock while doing their work.

For my future project, I will try to get more wobble chairs for my students so they don't have to wait for their turn to use one. At this moment, I am very grateful for all that's been given to me by kind-hearted people like you.”

  • A Table for All Activities!

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you again for the Lakeshore adjustable activity table! It has been a crucial part of my daily instruction. I've been able to meet my students in small groups for guided reading and provide individualized instruction to students who need extra support in reading, writing, or independent activities.

When my students first saw the table in the back of the classroom, they couldn't wait to be called so they can sit at the crescent moon-shaped table facing me so they can get all the attention from their teacher.

I plan on providing more small group support with the activity table so that every student gets the individualized attention they need.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. A. Wong

  • Keep Us Warm and Cozy

    Funded Jan 24, 2023

Thank you for your generous donation to my "Keep Us Warm and Cozy" project! We had pretty unusual weather this past school year, with many cold and rainy days. The comfortable puffer jackets kept my students warm inside and outside of the classroom.

When the jackets came, my students were super excited. I let them pick the color/design of their choice so they feel ownership of it.

My students and I are very grateful for donors like you who care about others and our community. I'm sure through your kindness, they're learning to care about others as well and I hope they will someday make an impact on others lives too.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. A. Wong

  • Warm Hats for the Cold Winter

    Funded Dec 11, 2022

Thank you for your generous donation to my classroom project! This past winter has been unusually cold and wet, so the warm hats with attached scarves and mittens were a perfect accessory to keep all my students warm, whether it was on their commute to school, playing outside during recess, or on their commute home.

My students were so happy to receive such cute hats! They got to pick the animal they wanted—panda, lion, bear, polar bear, tiger, elephant, bunny, or a ladybug! I love how the scarf is attached to the hat so that they hang down over their ears and kept them warm while out in the frigid weather.

We are now close to the end of First Grade and my students have received so much love from so many caring donors like you. They are very grateful for all the support they've received and are ready to concur what's ahead of them.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. A. Wong

My students love to play games where everyone is the winner. They brainstormed different things that they could do with a partner during P.E. time so that everyone is the winner, and no one is the loser. The students felt that games that were too competitive hurt some students’ feelings. The students came up with some activities that they wanted to do. Students said they wanted to participate in partner activities, working on different games to help each other improve. One of the games they wanted to participate in was the scooper game where partners would throw a ball to each other and catch it with a plastic scoop. Every time a ball is caught in the scoop, the team (consisting of both partners) receives a point. Another game they came up with is throwing balls at a target – rubber penguins. Each pair would throw balls at a rubber penguin, trying to knock it down. As long as the penguin is knocked down, the entire partnership team receives a point and both partners are winners. Another game they wanted to do was fly discs to their partners. When one partner catches the flying disc, thrown by the other partner, the team receives a point. No individuals score points in these games, only teams score points. All teams and players are winners! They decided that the focus of the games is to have fun while helping each other improve their skills. With your generous donations, these students will be thoroughly engaged in many physical activities that will get them moving for at least 60 minutes each day! Students will be learning lifelong, valuable lessons in building strong, healthy bodies.
