  • Insect Books!

    Funded Apr 21, 2023

You made it possible to provide books for my students to engage with during our insect unit of study! These books helped my students compare the similarities and differences of insects as they learned about their life cycles. Each book described how they hatch, develop, and live in their environments. The life cycle set has color photos and simple text that described the fascinating lifecycles of 12 different animal and plant species. The illustrations brought essential science vocabulary to life. With your help, we used these books and they can be a part of my classroom for years to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. White

  • Math the PreK Way

    Funded Dec 16, 2022

You gave my learners an opportunity to build on early math concepts and skills through these hands-on items. This grant asked for number recognition resources and counting supplies that gave my students an opportunity to practice independently and in small groups. The shape activities allowed them to connect with the world around them while building on geometrical concepts. They also got a chance to work cooperatively with their friends, taking turns and sharing materials. It gave my students materials to gain foundational math literacy skills which will make them strong learners in kindergarten.”

  • Hands-On Fine Motor

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

The resources that you provided helped to strengthen the fine motor skills of my students by giving them fun and engaging activities to use. This important skill was used to enhance in the early years because it created a way for students to strengthen their hand muscles. These fine motor skills that will be developed will help to define important writing skills. The lacing kits and building blocks gave them the opportunity to strengthen their grasp while expanding on their creative imaginations. The lacing beads also gave them the opportunity to practice using their fine motor skills while creating patterns. We will use this project for years to come.”

  • Buildings and Signs

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Students used the materials to engage in the world around them through engineering and constructing a community within our classroom. This unit gave them the ability to plan and build using a variety of resources and materials. Our classroom used environmental print and imaginative creations to study the world through math, science, read aloud stories and play. Your help brought their imaginations to life by bringing these important visual aides into our classroom. We know that children learn best when they are engaged with materials and excited to learn! You are were a part of making that happen.”

  • Sparking Imaginations

    Funded Sep 13, 2022

You have provided many great tools and resources to spark the imaginations of my Prek students this year! The magic writing boards helped kids create ideas and stories through writing. The insect viewers and paint supplies have provided visual inspiration that my students used create their own art inspired work during our insect theme. Then they were able to pretend to go fishing for letters as they practiced alphabet recognition. All of these tools have helped them develop into curious learners. They were engaged and ready to explore the world around them.”

  • A Leap of Growing

    Funded May 6, 2022

We were able to prepare for our Life and Earth sciences units through your wonderful donations! I was able to give my students a hands-on approach to integrating how things grow and change with real life experiences. We watched our tadpoles grow and change right before our eyes. We used models of other animals and plants to describe and write about how they change. Then we moved into our unit on the Earth and how it rotates around the sun to cause changes in the seasons. Your donation gave my students an opportunity to become scientist in their own learning.”

  • Exploring Life Cycles

    Funded Feb 15, 2022

You have helped my classroom obtain the resources that have helped my students explore the life cycle of animals and plants. The hands on models gave my curious students a realistic view of how animals and plants change and grow over time. They used the plant science center to explore the parts of plants and how to sort them. The sequencing station allowed my students to use learned concepts and apply them in a cooperative station to put the parts of the animal and plant life cycle in order. The students were able to apply new vocabulary and describe how things grew and changed over time!”

  • Books for Direct Instruction

    Funded Jan 1, 2022

Your generosity gave my students a great collection of guided reading books that interest them and are just right readers for students beginning to learn to read. These books are used in direct instruction during small group time to help develop better and more engaged readers in my classroom. My students have continued to learn more sight words and practice thinking like great readers. Then my students can go back and read the books again independently! We have developed a love for reading and learning through these engaging stories.”

  • Reading at My Level

    Funded Dec 27, 2021

Our beginning and early emergent reading students have enjoyed having the opportunity to build early reading skills and behaviors independently. You have made it possible for all of the students to practice reading stories at their level. We have a big a selection of books which made the reading experience fun and built the confidence in my students. We use the books in small group lessons that are geared for each readers needs. As they become better readers they will also feel pride in gaining knowledge through books! Thank you for giving my students the love of reading that they will need for a lifetime!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. White

Students will use the headphones to connect audio books to their imagination. They will be able to listen to and read along with grade level text provided through this project independently during station rotations. This station will help students hear what great reading sounds like. It will build their confidence and comprehension while serving as a model of what proficient reading sounds like. The students will be able to use the listening station daily within their station rotations. They will also be able to choose which stories interest them the most. They can easily access text that independently would cause frustration. This will open another world of access for students to continue learning to love reading!
