Simple Machines and Moving Things!
Funded Dec 9, 2024This project gave my students an opportunity to explore how simple machines make work easier—with our real-working wooden replicas! The machines incorporated handy contraptions like pulleys, wedges and screws.
Kids got hands-on experience with cause and effect as they raised and lowered objects on an elevator, moved blocks on a conveyor belt and more.
Plus, they gained insight into how full-sized machines make big jobs easier by connecting what they read in our books! These simple machines will enable students to explore effort, force, load, motion and distance. They will benefit students for years to come.”

Funded Nov 1, 2024Your donation has provided an opportunity for my students to use creative expression to use what we learn about careers and clothing to explore the topic.
My goal for this project was to enhance our dramatic play center as we started to explore clothing and how we can describe features of clothing. We also studied different types of clothing people use for jobs as we pretended by dressing up as these different careers and roles in our dramatic play center.
These materials, a mirror, costumes, costume tree, and puzzles will be used for years to come and will support the development of many students in the future!”

Funded Sep 6, 2024I am so grateful that you helped to provide different materials for building and constructing structures for my students this year. These materials have provided many opportunities for them to use their imagination and become engineers by constructing and deconstructing until they create something wonderful. Students got an opportunity to engage with different magnetic blocks, floating materials, building tiles, connecting blocks, magnetic balls and rods, and transparent light materials. The Light and Color: Toddler Loose Parts STEM Kit provided many opportunities for them to experiment and explore various shapes of different colors that enhance light play.”

Funded Feb 23, 2024You have given our class the opportunity to provide a large sensory table that helps students explore different sensory materials in a cooperative center. This water and sensory table has encouraged my students to touch, engage and observe different materials as they explore different topics. The students are be able to investigate different textures, weights, colors, and behaviors of objects. This essential item has supported brain development, enhancing memory, complex tasks and problem solving. It helps children develop fine motor skills through tactile play. Your support in bringing this item into our world of learning is greatly appreciated.”

Books for Me!
Funded Dec 17, 2023Thank you for your donation of books that helped encourage reading books into our social emotional calming space and during our emergent reading lessons.
My students loved to be able to read familiar stories. It also helped for them to read stories with engaging characters and catchy rhymes.
Theses books helped my students practice important emerging reading skills by providing an opportunity for them to retell familiar stories that we read in class.
My students loved reading these books over and over again in the library, during free choice and at the end of the day. We love books with repeating lines and rhyme.”

Flexible Learners
Funded Dec 18, 2023Your support to give my little learners a flexible seating area just right for them has become a popular spot for students to write, draw and explore puppets in our class. This low to the floor table and seating is the perfect space for them to write, engage in literacy and games. This seating option gave the children an opportunity to sit, stand or kneel to engage in learning activities. The durable floor table provided a sturdy surface for writing. My little learners were able to have plenty of materials for different writing tools and paper with this amazing space and comfortable low chairs.”

Funded Oct 30, 2023Your support helped me bring resources for the love to design and build into my classroom of young learners. We were able to inspire their creativity and help them explore their abilities to recreate, design and develop a love for constructing things out of different materials. The blocks that we were able to purchase gave help for them to see the world in a 3D platform and give them the tools to create beyond their imaginations. Your support helped them use curved blocks, colorful blocks, and materials of the natural world into our space. Children will see of pieces can go together to make something new and fun!”

Funded Sep 25, 2023With your generous donation our class was able to purchase sensory items to enhance and provide a fun source of sensory enrichment. These tools have encouraged them to engage with their environment in new ways. The sensory toys were designed to stimulate a child's major senses: sight, sound, touch, and smell. They included elements such as bright, contrasting colors, sounds, or different textures. These toys are meant to help my students develop their senses in a safe and natural environment using play. I was able to offer a variety of options for choice and interest.
We thank you for supporting our class and many classes to come!”

Bugging Out for Learning!
Funded Apr 13, 2023In this project we were able to provide hands on resources to help us learn as much as we can about insects through stories, observations, games and exploration!
We had very real looking insect X-rays to use and observe on the light table.
We loved the life cycle cards and real life insect models that helped us learn more about their body structure and features! Your donation helped us emerge our little classroom into a science lab full of possibilities and learning. We brought the facts of insects into our own little world.”

Funded Apr 3, 2023You made it possible to provide mulitple sets of counting trays for my students to practice counting objects up to 30! My little ones placed the counters in the handy molded compartments to explore counting and easily kept the pieces in place as they work! I was also able to purchase story retelling kits that allowed my students to use characters to retell familiar stories in our library center. These resources helped my students use hands-on manipulatives to practice important skills in our classroom. These delightful kits were packed with all the cloth characters and props. We were able to bring 6 of our favorite children's stories to life!”
