In my English classroom, it is my hope to instill a love for literature. I want to be able to create an environment for my various students that allow them to break out of the state-mandated mold in order to experience everything a good book can offer. Giving them comfortable options will make them more comfortable and willing to learn. In order to do this, I am asking for funds to create a classroom with flexible seating. Cushioned seats, bean bags, floor pillows, and exercise balls will be a privilege that they must work to maintain. This will not only create excitement about coming into the classroom, but also give comfortable and various options when it comes time to analyzing short stories or taking advantage of independent reading time.
