  • Flame On!

    Funded Oct 22, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations to supply us with pencil boxes and bulletin board paper! I specifically chose red as a way to add color and vibrancy to my classroom!

The students use their pencil boxes to practice writing their names because I label their boxes for that reason, so they can copy their first and last names. They also need them to hold their pencils, pens, markers, crayons, glue sticks and more! It has been the best resource I can find to teach them how to organize their desks.

I assure you, your donation will be put to great use.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sandy Walker

  • Supply Me With Paper Supplies!

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

Thank you so much for providing me with paper supplies! I use this material everyday to teach students math, art, cultural awareness and so much more! Without paper students wouldn't have Hundreds Charts to practice their number sense or booklets for their writing, or pictures to color.

We just used our paper supplies to celebrate Dia de los Muertos, The Day of the Dead. Students enjoyed coloring their sugar skulls and talking about people or pets they can remember that have passed away.

We also will use the name tags you help fund on our field trips to the Japanese American National Museum and our walking trip to local spots such as the library and fire station.”

  • It's a Great Time for Time for Kids Magazines!

    Funded Aug 26, 2019

Thank you so much for these much needed materials! My class this year is really struggling with learning how to read. That's why your donation is so important. I wanted my students to be exposed to different types of reading materials. Books are great, but magazines are a fun way for students to practice reading too! They provide vibrant pictures and diagrams that students can use to learn.

Time for Kids Magazines always provides appropriate and innovative topics that students will want to read about such as Fall harvests, technology, and important landmarks.

My class has been enjoying reading various issues and articles so thank you, thank you, thank you!”

  • Organization and Creation in the Classroom

    Funded Dec 11, 2018

Thank you for your donation! These pencil boxes will help students keep school supplies neatly tucked away on their desks. Organization is something teachers all struggle with since we need to help all students keep their materials and desks tidy! Pencil boxes are the best way for me to teach them how to do just that! I also print student names on top of their boxes to help them learn to write their first and last names.

This package also includes a STEM or building set that I can add to my "innovation station". It's the creative station that students use during independent work time. It is one of their favorite stations because it allows them to play and be creative. The students were so excited to see this new addition because they couldn't wait to build new projects!

I will use this building set to add to my STEM lessons. Each month I focus on a relevant challenge whether it be building candy towers on Halloween or slides for sleds in January. I hope to pave the way for future engineers through your donation by keeping them organized and creatively engaged. Thank you a thousand times over!”

  • Read My Lips! My Students Need Non-Fiction Books to Read!

    Funded Oct 12, 2018

Thank you so much for donating these much needed non-fiction books to our classroom. They are not only aligned to our science units but they also serve as mentor texts and examples of how to write informational writing. We have been learning about life cycles, plants, and animals and these books fit right in! We have also been writing teaching books and students can learn from these books such as how to create diagrams, learn about captions, and so much more. Students not only need books, they need to learn from different genres of books. You are helping us grow our library and expand our minds. Thank you for investing in our future, our children!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sandy Walker

  • Science Needs Love, Too!

    Funded Oct 25, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation of these much needed science books to our classroom! Not only will they be used to enhance our Plants and Animals science unit, they will also serve as examples and mentor texts for writing expository texts or what we like to call "teaching books". I also plan to share these with my colleagues so they can benefit not one but at least three classrooms of first graders all together. Without thoughtful donations from people like yourselves our classrooms would be in such need!”

  • It's Time for Time for Kids Magazines!

    Funded Sep 6, 2018

My students absolutely love Time for Kids Magazines. My students last year read about Mt. Rushmore and over the summer one student actually got to visit this major landmark with his family and texted me pictures of his whole experience! He especially mentioned that he couldn't believe he read about this place and got to see it in person. What an awesome experience for him and for me as his teacher to hear about it.

Reading in my classroom is often out of books or students are listening me read to them out of big books. What I love about Time for Kids magazines is that students get to experience different types of texts. They hardly get a chance to experience articles from magazines or read about interesting facts. Sometimes magazines are an even better way to read about facts because they are written concisely with vibrant photos.

I am looking forward to experiencing Time for Kids magazines this year with my current class.”

  • Earn High Marks With Markers and School Supplies!

    Funded Nov 12, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! My students love their pencil boxes that help keep their desks organized. It holds their crayons, pencils, erasers, markers, and more! I also attach their names on the top so they can learn to copy their first and last names. Every year I spend my own money buying these supplies out of my own pocket and this is the first year I don't have to worry about that! Thank you so much.

I now also have reliable markers that won't dry out while making colorful posters for my students to learn from. Studies show students retain more information when a lesson is accompanied with visuals. My goal is to make as many visuals such as posters to help my students retain lessons.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sandy Walker

  • Sharpen Our Minds and Our Pencils Too!

    Funded Oct 13, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! As you know, a pencil sharpener is an essential asset in any classroom and we had been struggling with sharing one with our neighboring classroom. My students and I were thrilled that the new pencil sharpener arrived. It makes class preparation for writing a breeze and we don't have to waste time bringing the shared pencil sharpener back and forth. My students and I thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts, my neighboring colleague too!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sandy Walker

  • It's a Great Time for "Time for Kids" Magazine

    Funded Aug 20, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donations! My students have enjoyed reading about interesting science topics, cultures, and seasons. My students can make connections to the changing season and read about Fall on the first day of Autumn! It's been such a great reading tool for my students to practice reading and to be exposed to different types of literature. These magazines also come with fun worksheets that can be used with the magazines. I know my students will love reading about futuristic modes of transportation and creating their own type of futuristic vehicle.

Thank you so much for the added support in my classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sandy Walker

My students are made up of a mixture of students who speak English as a second language and students who speak English only. As a result I need a wide range of materials that help students at all performance levels to practice new concepts but can help challenge others as well.
