Thank you so much for the support of my students and our classroom in having this project come to fruitition. The snacks have been very helpful in keeping my students appetite satisified during lunch and the wipes and other cleaning supplies have been of great use to keep classroom clean and students hands germ free (almost).

The hand sanitizer has been a hit with the staff (Aides) as we keep one on our lanyard at all times, our students have gotten a routine where they will come to one of us and ask or prompt us for hand sanitizer on their hands as they wipe away all the bad germs.”

A child with autism typically has severe speech and language disabilities. Undesired behaviors such as screaming, hitting, crying and self injury typically decrease with the use of an effective, immediate, universal means of communication. The iPads and the software available with apps will provide a universal means of communication. The communication books they now carry have picture icons often times becoming lost or destroyed. Replacing icons takes a lot of time and resources delaying the ability of the student to tell us what they need or want. The use of electronic and or picture icons have been effective with developing oral communication skills. The families of my students become ecstatic when their son or daughter are finally able to tell them what they want or how they feel. They no longer have to play 20 questions or see their child tantrum due to their inability to express themselves effectively.
