I teach in a low-income area. Using a document camera is integrating technology into the classroom and is used to actively engage my students. Visual learners benefit by seeing small items, and texts in a bigger way. Hands-on learners benefit by allowing them to place items and objects and explaining what they are showing. The document camera helps to show books, use manipulatives, model instruction, view timers, do science experiments and demonstrate strategies. I can be in any area of the room and still display material. Students will be able to show off their work for all to see. This will help give them a positive outlook on school.
