Hands-On Centers!
Funded Sep 27, 2017Upon receiving the new resources, the endless possibilities brought me so much joy! While creating my donars choose, I kept in mind the different ways each activity and task can be used. My children learn best while using tangible items and while working in groups. Therefore, I embarked on looking for materials and resources that would allow for productive centers.
The first day I started centers using the new materials, I immediately noticed how engaged the children were. The tasks kept the students attention for long periods of time and they were very focused on completing the activities. I put the children into three centers. 1 being phonemic awareness, another being math center and another being fine motor. At the phonemic awareness center, the children used the activities to sound out initial sounds as well as the gel board to trace letters (this was a big hit). At the math center, the children really enjoyed using the new manipulative tiles to help them count. They really helped them focus on rote counting. And lastly, at the fine motor center, the children used the shape sorting activities along with the jumbo string and beads task and the jumbo peg board. It was like Christmas Day for all of us!
I can't not express my gratitude more thanking you for helping me teach my students using hands on materials within center groups.”

Touching Lives With Sensory Fun
Funded Feb 9, 2017When we received the sensory items from my project "Touching Lives with Sensory Fun", my children were so excited to see the materials. I have a great hope that the class will enjoy the materials and thy will help them stay on task and focused.
The chewlerey bracelet help keep the children from chewing on their sleeves and other articles of clothing. They were memorized to hold and see the individual lava lamps. I gave them a few minutes with quiet music on to use the objects.
I was pleased to notice that after using with the items, the class seemed to be more focused and calmed. Thank you again for your donations and I am very appreciative of your help!”

"Listening Ears, Learning Minds!"
Funded Dec 12, 2016On behalf of my students, I am so grateful for the donations made that will help provide my students with the knowledge needed to complete tasks and activities throughout the day. The children will greatly benefit from the CD player that will go along very nicely with the books and felt pieces made for each individual book.
It's been my experience that children grow and learn nicely through music. Music such as books on CD are engaging and keep the child focused. No child learns alike therefore, visuals often benefit visual learners such as felt pieces that go along with a story being read.
When using the manipulative's received, the children came to life and immediately responded to the task at hand. Thank you again for your time and help.”

Christmas in September for Some Very Special Children
Funded Oct 12, 2016The materials provided within my project were to better help my children accomplish meeting there
individual goals as well as games that can be played in small groups. They all are on various levels and can use many different materials and manipulative's to help them.
In small groups, the children can use the magnetic number tray games to take turns putting which number comes next. During this time, modeling of language such as "your turn" and 'my turn" will be used. Another great addition to our classroom received from our project are the big books. They are each accompanied with the felt board materials that go along with each book such as the characters.
I am very greatly for the donations made to my classroom and to the donors Choose organization for assisting me with helping not only my classroom grow but my student's minds as well.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Bujka
