  • STEM Unleashed

    Funded Feb 14, 2025

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donations that have significantly enriched our STEM lab. Thanks to your support, our students had the opportunity to use Lego sets to build models and label the parts of a flower. This hands-on activity not only made learning about plant biology fun and interactive but also helped the students retain the information more effectively. They enjoyed bringing their drawings to 3D and I was super proud of their accomplishments.

In addition to the Lego models, with the supplies the students also built kaleidoscopes, which allowed them to explore the concepts of symmetry and the reflection of light. The students were so excited about this lesson. They didn't want to leave the lab.

I am truly grateful for your support of our STEM lab. The students had an absolute blast and were completely engaged throughout these activities. Your generosity has not only provided them with valuable learning tools but has also inspired a love for science and discovery. Thank you once again for your incredible support and for making such a positive impact on our students' education. I couldn't have done it without you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Donovan

  • It’s STEMsational!

    Funded Nov 13, 2024

I have been beyond thrilled to see the impact of these materials in my STEM lab. The students were so excited when they came into the lab and saw the boxes of supplies. They were even more excited when I pulled out the supplies!

I was able to use the supplies to create various stations with tasks at each station. The students were able to rotate through the stations over a span of a few classes. At the circuit maze station, students created electrical circuits that lit up designated beacons. Students learned what an open and closed circuit means. At the gravity station, students used the gravity maze to build a path that will carry the marble to the target tower. Students had to understand the force of gravity and potential and kinetic energy to solve the challenge. At the geomakers station, students had to figure out how to build bridges that would withstand the most weight. The students had so much fun in these stations and it was amazing watching all their creativity and teamwork.

Seeing my students collaborate and work as a team has been amazing! I love watching their eyes light up when they figured something out. I am very lucky to be able to provide the supplies to students to be able to create this hands on environment in my lab. Thank you so much for making this possible.”

    With gratitude,

Thank you for your generous donation to support my classroom. My students were overjoyed when the Amazon boxes arrived. I explained to them about Donors Choose and how there are amazing people in the world that donate to teacher's projects to help with supplies needed in the classroom. They couldn't believe all the supplies that were donated to them.

These supplies have helped me get organized and be able to create some fun engaging lessons. As the new STEM teacher this year, these supplies will impact over 400 students. We have been working on team building challenges so far and watching the students work together has been amazing. I have many great ideas for using the supplies and I can't wait to see the students soar!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am truly grateful to you. I would not be able to do any of these lessons if I didn't have the support from such kind people.”

  • It's STEMazing!

    Funded May 18, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation to bring STEM into my classroom. My students were overjoyed when they saw the boxes of supplies. I explained to them that there are people in the world that truly care about student learning and want to support teachers. People with big hearts that give to teacher projects in order to bring joy into the classroom. Your donation did this for our class and we truly appreciate you.

These supplies allowed my students to be creative. They were told about the infamous Lionfish and how invasive it is. Their challenge was to create a trap in order to catch it. They were given supplies and were told to work together and build. These students blew my mind! They were so creative. To see them work together and strategize truly warmed my heart. It was such a fun lesson and the students really enjoyed it.

This school year, I am now in a new position as a STEM teacher. These supplies will now reach even more students and allow me to continue to do fun and engaging lessons. Thank you so much for making my job a little easier by supplying the materials needed to create hands on lessons. I am forever grateful!”

  • Embrace Your Uniqueness

    Funded Sep 17, 2020

This project was so very dear to my heart. The world is every changing and it's more important than ever to have books about kindness and diversity. I am so grateful that this project was funded. I am excited to be able to use these books to teach students the importance of acceptance. Acceptance of self and of others.

These books are going to be an amazing addition to our media center. I will be able to promote the books for students to check out and I hope that these books give them some understanding how important it is to see people from the inside.

Thank you Donors for your generous contributions to allow these important books to be a part of our library collection. They will make a huge impact!”

  • Let the Student's Read!

    Funded Aug 22, 2020

There is nothing more gratifying than seeing students fall in love with reading. The looks on their faces when they see the boxes of books come through the media center is just priceless. It fills me with joy to see their excitement to check out the new books!

These books will also be a great supplement to my lessons. Every year I promote the importance of being kind. I read a few stories and then we do various activities throughout the school to spread kindness to all. I am excited to be able to share these new kindness books to students this year.

These books will add so much more to our library. Students are always looking for new holiday books and these books will be such a great addition to the ones we already have. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting our school.”

  • SSYRA Is Grrrreat!

    Funded Jun 25, 2020

My young students LOVE books. They especially love the Sunshine State books because I create a fun lesson to go with them. Usually I have to wait a couple months until the books come in from our book companies, but by getting this project funded, I am able to start with these amazing books at the beginning of the school year.

School starts next week and with everything going on, I know reading these books to the students will be a highlight of their day especially when I add fun crafts to them. Even from 6 feet apart, it will be a way to connect.

For my Second graders, they will be thrilled to be able to check out these books in order to earn their brag tags for passing a quiz on the book. You can see what these tags look like in the pictures. The looks on their faces as I hand them the tag to add to their necklace is priceless. They love to walk around showing their friends their accomplishments. Once they earn 10 tags, they earn a celebration at the end of the school year.

Thank you for all you do to support our students across the world all the time and thank you for supporting me. You are amazing!”

    Mrs. Donovan

Students at this school are hard working learners. They may come from homes that are struggling, 73% of them are on free or reduced lunch, but that doesn't stop them from wanting an education. The students are multiracial, 40% white, 31% hispanic, 23% black, 3% asian, and 3% combination of races. This creates an environment of acceptance and tolerance for all. My challenge is to level the playing field so that students with less opportunities are able to compete academically with those who have more opportunities. In my learning environment I endeavor to set them up to win in an environment that is inviting and comfortable. Sometimes that means school supplies, mending clothing, a bandaid, or a kind word. I believe this will not only help the student focus, but will also produce higher level of work from the student. Teaching these young learners is a privilege.
