In an effort to achieve the mission of the Atlanta Public Schools there is a need to make the school look like real life; to help scholars identify what they already know, what they need to know, and how to get there, so they are change agents and productive citizens of their community. The items being requested fulfill business plan implementation entrepreneurial lessons that lead to the following business: STEM flavored popcorn, STEM GEMS Jewelry making, Custom ink stem T-Shirt design, Manicured STEM nail designs, Mixed up STEM flavored icees and STEM Master Chefs The goal of the businesses is to provide hands-on experience’s to scholars so they see how Entrepreneurship and STEM are useful in every career field. Imagine the next Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates coming from one of Atlanta’s most challenged and resource-poor public schools. Handle Your Business STEM Entrepreneurship Program can make this a reality through exhilarating Career Conversations on challenging subjects in ways they never thought possible using entrepreneurship! This program will motivate youth towards educational achievement and sow the seeds of career exploration, possibility, and discovery among traditionally underrepresented youth including minorities and girls. This student-centered approach to learning promotes creative thinking, teamwork, problem-solving, and flexibility, all important life skills for success in college and on the job. It equips young people with the values and vision to pursue their dreams as Young Entrepreneurs “Handling Their Business...From the Classroom...To the Board Room!”
