  • Students Will Soar with Slant Boards, Self-Help Tools, and More!

    Funded Dec 31, 2022

Thank you for your support in helping me provide tools to my students and their teachers. It is extremely helpful for skill carryover to be able to provide teachers with similar tools that I am using in occupational therapy. The erasable highlighters and raised line paper have been extremely beneficial in helping my students learn to write on the lines, along with the slant board to help with optimal hand positioning. The dressing vests and shoe, are helping my students learn basic daily life skills, and we are so so grateful to you for that. The mini pencils and thick crayons have been really helpful in teaching my students how to hold a pencil with a mature grasp. All of the resources you have helped us receive, have been instrumental in my students' success within the therapy room and classroom. Thank you for being apart of my students' journey of helping them reach their goals.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ishakis

  • OT Students Want to Revamp Their Basement Bat Cave

    Funded Nov 7, 2018

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Our 60+ students are super appreciative of this wonderful new clover table. It has provided more space in our room, along with more opportunity for students to work together in groups. It is an appropriate height for our students to sit at, which is great to assist their motor ability to complete projects with scissor cutting, writing, and coloring, allowing for more arm and hand control.

Our students were ecstatic when they saw the new table. They asked how we received it, if they could sit by it, and loved the bright blue color! Our older students wrote letters to thank you for your support in helping spread the love to our OT room. Our students are looking forward to using this table every day to complete their work in hopes of achieving their OT goals.

    Warmest wishes and greatest thanks!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ishakis

Help our students have a more organized, ergonomic, and neat learning environment. We can serve up to 10 students in a small room in the basement, and having a bunch of desks pushed together gives us limited space for movement activities such as yoga, usage of the trampoline, and sensory breaks. Our current space has older desks of varying sizes, with some chairs that don't fit under the current desks. Being OTs, we definitely appreciate proper chair and desk sizes for our students. Having proper desk and chair sizes provide students with more stability when completing any writing or desk activity. Having students' feet touch the floor is ideal, and having a desk height not above the elbows. This new clover desk will definitely serve many uses in our room. Our student population varies from students that have ADHD, autism, and other developmental delays, who are commonly affected by clutter. Reduced distractions will improve the learning environment for these students. We strive to help them meet their goals, but are requesting your assistance to improve the learning dynamic of our OT atmosphere.
