  • Touch the Planet!

    Funded Sep 26, 2023

Thank you so much for funding my project! My students will be so excited to be able to explore the world they live in in different ways -- looking through it, touching it, and seeing the the ways our world is represented will help my young students better understand where they live in meaningful and deep ways.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Macomber

  • Gamify Third Grade

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for finding my project! The students will be thrilled to play games to practice their fundamental reading and math skills. This allows them to not only work on their academic goals, but allow them to practice social skills like team work, cooperation, and losing gracefully. It will also allow me to work with students one on one and in small groups now that I have some options for other kiddos.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Macomber

My students know so much about where they live; about our state and community! But, recently I was reminded of our limitations when I had to explain that hummingbirds were real. Imagine what it would be like to be a kid, stuck inside for part of winter at -40, but with a headset that can take them anywhere! With these tools, small groups of students can explore Jamestown while we learn about colonization! They can see the kelp forest "in person" as we learn about ecosystems and habitats! They can enjoy gazing at a skyscraper as we test different shapes for earthquake safety and build our own towers. Imagine what it would be like to leave your classroom, just for a moment, and step into another world! This will enhance my student's engagement in the learning material, increase their understanding, and motivate them -- an experience they'll never forget!
