  • Squid Dissection

    Funded Nov 13, 2023

Today, was an exciting day for our third graders. They learned squid's anatomy in a most exciting way by dissecting them.

Students were over joyed to see the parrot like beak and the ink sack inside the squid. They were able to see the chromatophores on the squid. This dissection lesson also gave me the opportunity to teach camouflage of the squid.

My students will cherish their first dissection for a long time. All this was possible because of your donation dollars. Once again, thank you for your kindness.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reddy

This classroom project was brought to life by San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) and 4 other donors.
  • Owl Pellets Dissection

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

This week has been very exciting for our school. Today is National STEM day and my fifth graders did Owl Pellets dissection. They all enjoyed this activity as part of their food chains and food web lesson.

Students are well focused and are excited to do such a fun activity. They are asking me when is my next dissection lesson. I am happy to see their motivation.

With your generous help, they are able to learn what kind of materials owls regurgitate? They made great memories. We are really great full for your kindness.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reddy

  • Amazing Butterflies

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you so much for helping our students to see butterfly life cycle stages.

This marvelous metamorphosis occurrence touched every student in a special way.

Raising butterflies in the classroom is an unforgettable, fun and educational lesson for my students. We released the butterflies in our school garden. Students were thrilled to see the butterflies flew from plant to plant.

It was a great lesson for me to end the the school year with such an interesting life science lesson. Once again, thank you for your donation dollars.”

    Mrs. Reddy

  • Exploring Minds

    Funded Oct 2, 2022

Thank you once again for supporting our students. My fifth graders had so much fun dissecting owl pellets. Most of them said this was their best science experiment so far. As a class they collected bones and tried to construct a whole prey skeleton.

Kindergarteners and first graders had fun playing with magnets. They learned science vocabulary like north and south poles, attraction and repulsion.

We used magnetic hooks to hold our food pyramid chart and other science supplies. My students and I greatly appreciate your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reddy

  • Materials for Curious Minds

    Funded May 8, 2022

Thanks you so much for helping our STEM Lab to get much needed supplies. Our students explored magnetism by using magnetic wands. They were just the right size to hold and move around in the classroom and discover what classroom items were attracted to magnets.

Paint collage trays were great to hold our classroom items. Reusable write and wipe packets helped us to follow our motto of 3Rs ( reduce, reuse, refuse).

The bright color trays were eye catching and the items were made of high quality materials. In our classroom they will last for a few years.

We have not started dissecting our dinosaur eggs yet. But, I am sure students will be thrilled to dissect and to see a baby dinosaur inside the egg.

All these fun activities were possible because of your generous donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reddy

  • Fluttering Butterflies

    Funded Feb 28, 2022

It was such a joy to see my students curiosity and enthusiasm of butterflies in my STEM Lab. Tiny caterpillars took almost 15 to 20 days to metamorphosis into beautiful butterflies. Each and everyday students eagerly watched and learned about insects.

Finally, when the day came to release them in our school garden, our students had mixed feelings. Some were happy to see them fly away and some were sad to see them go away.

Overall, they had a fun unit on insects.

My students and I sincerely thank you for your kind donation.”

  • Budding Biologists And Curious Chemists

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

I really appreciate your generous donation. My students were thrilled to see and dissect owl pellets. Not only my students but parents were happy that their children were learning science in a fun way.

Second and third graders were amazed to see the power of magnets. They were racing with each other to see how many paper clips their magnet can pick up. They went around STEM lab to see what objects magnets can attract.

All these hands on lessons were done with your donation dollars. It is a rewarding experience for me to see these fun activities.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reddy

  • STEM Learning by Hands-On Approach Method

    Funded Sep 12, 2019

My students are fortunate to learn science in a fun way through hands on approach method. It was possible because of your generous donation.

STEM learning books added to our existing library. The partition boards worked well during testing time. Storage trays are helping me to organize students papers.

My special day students enjoyed magic marble experiment. Students loved to get different kinds of stamps on their finished assignments.

My heartfelt thanks for helping to make these wonderful moments happen in my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reddy

  • Budding Butterflies In The Classroom

    Funded Mar 6, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our "Budding Butterflies In The Classroom", life science project. I am a science prep teacher for about 160 first and second grade students. They were thrilled to see the butterfly metamorphic changes in our classroom.

Hands on experiments always invoked curiosity in my students. Some students were delighted to hold butterflies. They loved our butterflies so much and a few students did not want me to release them in to the nature.

Students learned symmetrical patterns and drew beautiful butterflies for art project. We displayed them for our open house. As part of language arts, students wrote and illustrated four distinct metamorphic changes of insect's life cycle. Thank you once again for making a difference in their learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reddy

This classroom project was brought to life by CFP Foundation and Bay Area Host Committee.
  • Motivating Manipulatives

    Funded Nov 27, 2018

Thank you for your generous donation. My students had fun learning science by using these marvelous manipulatives.

Fifth graders used periodic charts to make their own periodic table. Colorful periodic table charts made learning easy and interesting. The chart helped them to learn chemical symbols of elements and how to place each element in the periodic table according to their properties.

Fourth graders loved their magnetism lesson and used magnets to test magnetic effects on other elements. Iron fillings helped me to show them that the poles have more magnetic strength than the center of the magnetic bar.

These manipulative definitely made science easier to understand. Thanks again for making these projects live and memorable for my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reddy
