Stay Sharp: Pencils and a Sharpener for Student Success!
Funded Mar 25, 2025Thank you so much for your generosity and support! Your contributions have made a huge difference for my students by helping us get the pencils and sharpener we needed. With your help, my students can now stay focused and prepared, and it’s all because of your kindness.
Your support means more than you know — thank you for investing in my students’ success and helping to make our classroom a better place. We truly appreciate you!”

Funded Sep 25, 2024Thanks to your generosity, my students now have access to essential personal care items like snacks, deodorant, and pads—resources that are making a real difference in their daily lives. These supplies support my students beyond academics, giving them the confidence and comfort they need to fully engage in class. For example, one of my students mentioned that knowing snacks are available helps her concentrate better in the afternoons, while others appreciate the personal care items that allow them to feel prepared and focused throughout the day. Your support has created a more inclusive and supportive environment, showing my students that their needs are seen and valued.
The students' reactions when they saw the materials were heartwarming. Some were surprised that these kinds of resources could be available right in their classroom, while others expressed gratitude that they no longer need to worry about small but significant needs while they're at school. It's moments like these that remind me how impactful a caring, supportive classroom can be.
With this foundation of care in place, I look forward to expanding our classroom culture of well-being and self-care. My students are more able to focus on our hands-on science projects and collaborative learning activities now that their basic needs are supported, and they're already showing an increase in engagement. Thank you for providing my students with both the essentials and the message that they are valued and supported!”

Funded Aug 24, 2020I cannot begin to explain how grateful we are for your donations! This year required supplies that I normally would not be overly concerned about; however, the concern to supply, and in some cases even find, an abundance of hand sanitizer and wipes became vital. I also faced the problem of supplies no longer being shared, such as over-the-heard-headphones that I had bought recently.
One of the biggest reactions I got from my students was relief! Relief that they were not going to be strictly on the computer all class period. I was able to give students the ability to work through electron configuration with periodic tables and expo markers. I was able to incorporate the use of stations and videos through the use of their own headphones. I have been able to do interactive exit tickets with sticky notes while enforcing the 6ft rule with the use of colorful tape.
When these students look back on their 9th grade year, I know that they will remember that someone, someone that didn't even know them, cared enough about them and their education to help them have a little normalcy in this crazy time we are in.”

Be Flexible!
Funded Feb 28, 2019It is always exciting to see the faces of these kids when you have something for them. When I first introduced the flexible seating options, I started with the yoga mats. I put the responsibility of figuring out who could use the mat, how they were going to share, how to make it fair, and how to make sure they were taken care of all in the hands of the students. It was really cool to watch them set their own rules and boundaries for the yoga mats and to hold each other accountable for following those rules.
Next, I added in the balancing disks and the yoga balls. Again, students were responsible for ensuring things were taken care of and handled properly. And again, I was not disappointed!
We are very thankful for your open hearts. We feel the love and support, and we are extremely grateful to have you in our lives, even through support of the DonorsChoose project.”

Funded Jan 26, 2018I can't thank you all enough for your help with funding my project. Keeping these students safe is something so important to my heart. With all the tragedy in the world, making sure the students feel safe is vital in being able to educate them.
While the original device I chose did not work, I was able to work with DonorsChoose to find something else that will work as well. This device is simple to use, simple enough that if need be, a student could set it up.
This device simply hooks underneath the door handle and angles with the floor to prevent an intruder from entering. In the unfortunate event that we had to put our school on lock-down, I know that I will, and hopefully the students will, feel a little safer in such a scary situation.”

Funded Aug 19, 2017Thank you so much for helping to fund my class project. The amount of support and encouragement I have received from each of you is overwhelming, and I am thankful to have such backing from friends, family, and the community.
Many of my students are not provided with necessary supplies. In my classroom, we use interactive notebooks or journals to keep students involved and engaged and help with keeping up with everything. The scissors, glue sticks, and pencils that we were able to purchase, thanks to your donation, allowed students to come as they are and still have what they need. It also allowed me to free up some of my own funds in order to be able to purchase more things for hands on activities instead of basic supplies.
Please continue to offer your support and encouragement to teachers and students as the years pass. I hope each of you realize what a blessing you have been to not only myself, but for my classroom and students as well. Because they know you care, they will continue to strive for all that I know they can be.”

Knock it out of the Jurassic Park!
Funded Sep 22, 2016Hello, and thank you!
We are well on our way in regards to digging in to our book, Jurassic Park, and that is all thanks to you! My students are making connections between the content of our science lessons and the reading from the book. The "aha!" moments are increasing as they are seeing how what they are learning is applied in "real life." Again, we appreciate you and your donations from the bottom of our hearts. Keep supporting our teachers and the incredible impact that they are making on our future.”
