  • Color Printer for Our Fabulous Work!

    Funded Aug 18, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to my class this year. We have been able to use our new book bins for our classroom library. The book bins are clearly labeled by genre so it's easy to find specific books for our learning. We have also been able to add more books since the bins allow us to use less space. My students are always excited to look for books when it's time for independent reading.

Our color printer has also been such a treat for my students. Not only do we get to faster access to a copies, but we have been able to print images on our finished writing, animal projects and other art projects.

The new chair also has been very popular in our class. It matches our other chairs and is comfortable to sit on the ground during the day.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Baba

  • Safe Socially-Distanced Flexible Seating

    Funded Mar 20, 2021

Thank you so much for thinking about our class during the crazy year. Shifting back to in-person learning has been a smooth transition with the addition with these new seats. The kids love having the options and choices to choose what seat will work best for their learning for the day. They have taken the responsibility in cleaning them daily and love how they can exert their energy during class to focus during the day.

Again, thank you again for donating to our class. The kids really appreciate it and as do I!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Baba

  • Let's Connect Through Distance Learning!

    Funded Aug 27, 2020

As some of you can assume, teaching remotely has been a challenge not only for students, but for teachers as well. Teaching through a computer screen, students are not able to see and experience the same experiences as being in person. With this amazing document camera, I can display so many materials that have enhanced my students' learning experience. They are able to view the books I am reading to them clearly, they are able to see my whiteboard up close, and most of all, still hear me while I am teaching. This amazing document camera has changed my teaching experience in so many ways, that I am hoping my students feel it too.

Thank you so much for all donating to this cause to help me support my class. We all really appreciate it and are so happy you care about our learning experiences!”

  • Books for Change in Fourth Grade

    Funded Aug 30, 2020

These books will and have made such a huge difference in my virtual classroom. I have so many more books and resources to teach empathy, inclusivity, and leadership within our class. Being online and teaching is a bigger obstacle for kids to find their identity, confidence, and independency. They are having to go through more obstacles than usual and having to depend on their families more.

With these books, I hope to provide more positivity in the journey. I am especially excited to share books that include the coming of a character and self-identity. Thank you again for donating to my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Baba

  • Wobble for Focus

    Funded Nov 30, 2018

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and generosity. My class and I absolutely the new additions to the classroom. It's amazing at how small of a difference can make a huge impact in the classroom. Every day the kids come in excited to use to the stools and cushions. They have no problem sharing with each other and encouraging each other. It has created a peaceful, yet problem solving community in the classroom.

Just in the past couple of weeks of using the stools, many kids have been more engaged in their work. They have resulted to less wondering and less disruptions during instruction time. I absolutely love how engaged the kids are!

Thank you so much for all your support!”

  • Community Time!

    Funded Mar 14, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom for this amazing rug. With this rug, I was able to implement flexible seating even more in my classroom. Currently, I have five different shaped tables and with the rug, some students are able to sit on the floor with pillows, back rests, and clipboards. This gives them a different environment to work in. My students seem to be more comfortable working in the classroom. They have also shown to work more cooperatively within their table groups and floor seats. My classroom has also been more clean. The students have shown more pride in cleaning up the classroom because they want to take care of the new rug. I have seen much more maturity in these kids because of the new rug and new tables. Thank you again for supporting my students!”

  • Flexible Seating for 4th Grade!

    Funded Feb 8, 2018

I am so thankful and appreciative for your support and donations for my classroom resources. Once I put the new tables in during lunch without the kids seeing, they were so shocked, surprised and excited all at the same time.

I am hopeful that they will learn to make smart decisions while practicing where to sit and with whom, being able to work in an area efficiently, and also keep their things organized. I can tell that they want to take care of their new materials because they were so gentle with the new tables. The tables have already allowed us to see how big our classroom is by creating more space with the versatile shapes. I am hopeful that they will also learn to work with everyone in the classroom by sitting in new areas each day and cooperate as a table.

Thank you again for all your support!”

  • We Are Writers!

    Funded Sep 1, 2017

With the help of our new guided reading books, my students will be able to practice their skills with all different genres of books at their level. With so many students and different reading and writing levels, these books will not only interest them, but they are given materials that will help them become more engaged with all different books. They already love to read every day, but these books will open up their reading lives to a bigger stage.

In my classroom, the kids have their own reading spots all over the classroom. I have already seen them take an interest in the new books and dive right in. They sometimes cannot stop reading because they are so engaged. They want to start a new book before I even get a chance to read it. I am amazed by how much their love for reading has grown.

They especially love the revising and editing booklets. They were able to refer to this "cheat sheet" when they are revising their own writing and their classmate's. They love how it's so accessible and it creates a writing atmosphere.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Baba

  • Students Need Some Organization!

    Funded Mar 20, 2017

This project has helped out my classroom environment and students in many different ways. First, the visual appeal of the organized shelves motivates my students to keep our classroom neat and organized. They are able to see all their social studies and science books out for them ready to grab. They are also able to see all of our math manipulatives neatly organized in tubs and in their own section on the shelves. When retrieving their books during Social Studies or Science, my students are able to grab their books without arguing with one another and without pushing each other. This really helps the flow and routine of getting books a lot smoother.

Most of all, my students put back their materials in a neat and organized manner. They appreciate the materials given to them and respect them as well. They want to make sure these shelves are kept organized all the time. They love how they can grab any material they need because they see it so much easier and it is open for them. They don't have to struggle opening old drawers to grab their materials.”

I teach 4th grade in the heart of the Richmond District in San Francisco. My students and I live real close to the beach and Golden Gate Park so they love spending time outdoors. I have 30 students and they are a diverse group. Many speak two languages such as Cantonese, Mandarin, Russian, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Spanish. These kids are all extremely hard working and have all very unique qualities. They thrive to learn every day!
