  • Strength in Mind and Body

    Thank you so much for donating medicine balls to our fitness class. Before your donation, I would have one station for medicine ball workouts, composed of five students. With your help, I could conduct a workout with the entire class. This helps with classroom management; students seem to stay more on task when following along as an entire unit instead of in small groups.

    These medicine balls are durable too, not like the ones we currently have. My students liked the weight of each, as well. Our current ones were either too light or too heavy. We really appreciate your support as we work to get stronger and mentally healthier!”

  • Healthy Hearts for All Students!

    We used the Fitbits today and it went so well! They were super psyched to use them. It's so nice going into lessons with technology because students have no fear and hardly need instructions.

    The goal of the lesson was to track their heart rates before and after working out. Our workout was a circuit with dumbbells. The target heart rate zone was from 80-100. They seemed to enjoy checking their steps and competing with each other. After the workout, they wrote down their heart rates. We'll continue using the Fitbits and will eventually graph their heart rates to see any variances from each workout.
