These bilingual books and resources will allow new students to access text and continue to build upon reading comprehension skills in their first language. With so many Spanish speakers in my school, we need more Spanish and bilingual text for them to read and stimulate their academic development in their first language, while they begin to learn English as a second language. The writing and drawing supplies will allow my students to show their understanding of the texts and to express their ideas in creative ways. Many of my students come with limited English vocabulary and writing in their first language or using drawings helps them express their ideas clearly, even though they may not know English yet. By donating to this project, you are helping my students build comprehension and express their ideas in creative ways!
